Can we just talk about supporting small, local businesses for a minute? I’ve found one I absolutely love!

Everyday people line up 4-5-6 cars deep to grab a DD or Starbucks. But real talk- it’s expensive and mid at best!

I’ve been wanting to try Blue Brew LLC for minute so I took a gamble and bought a gift card and VIP pass she had for a deal on FB so I had a reason to stop by and check it out. Believe me when I say this little gem of a coffee shop DID NOT DISAPPOINT! That’s saying a lot because I’m more of a make my own coffee kinda person, but the new menu they just dropped has me wanting to stop in whenever I can!

Today I stopped in and grabbed a Mombie and a Caramel Apple Cold Brew. Both were slammin’ and I promise I’ll be back so I can try as many new flavors as possible! This place has you covered for just about anything you like- including drinks for your littles!

Having kids was so much fun - well- most of the time anyway!

I miss the busy life with soccer, football, lacrosse, diving and everything else in between! Sitting on the sidelines watching practices, scrimmages and games. Lugging around smelly cleats, sweaty football gear and turning around because we grabbed the wrong color game jersey! I miss every chaotic moment of being a busy mom of four!

If you’re in that season of life- I hope you enjoy every last minute of it because I promise you’ll miss it when it’s over!

As school gets into full swing let me offer up some Old Head advice for parents sending their kids back to school this year 🤓

I call it the “Give ‘Em 🔟” rule

Give your kids TEN days off from school whenever they want- just because! Yes, I said it- TEN DAYS! In Pennsylvania parents can provide written excuses for up to 10 cumulative days of LAWFUL absences per school year.

So if they can have ‘em- use ‘em!

When I was growing up you went to school - no matter what. In fact, fake sick barely worked in our house; my mom would tell us if we were too sick to be in school the nurse would send us home. To nobody’s surprise - getting sent home never happened. When I had kids of my own that was my rule too- until it wasn’t! 💥Sorry to my two oldest kids because they didn’t get to enjoy the give ‘em 10 rule! 💥

Some days I didn’t want to go to work “just because” so why did I expect my kids to be any different?

Because of that, I decided to give my kids 10 days to use however they wanted. I kept a running total so they knew how many they had left to use and I let them use them whenever they wanted- without restriction. My only rule was that they couldn’t use them for 3 consecutive days. Sometimes they ran out of days before the year was over - which made them mad when they wanted to take a day that no longer existed! Needless to say- they quickly learned how to manage their days for the following year!

✅Too tired and want to stay home? Ok
✅Want to go snowboarding on a random Tuesday?
Sounds good to me!
✅Going out of town for a family trip!
Let’s do it!
✅Woke up late and don’t want to rush around to get ready?
Tomorrow is another day!

Whatever it is give ‘em 10 and send in a note!

Your kids will be happier!
You’ll be happier!
And they probably won’t miss anything that damn important anyway!

Society has spent the last few decades normalizing single moms, broken homes and shared custody. One and done married couples have become a dying breed and that’s pretty sad!

If you‘ve been married one time, your babies all have the same last name, you have no step children, no shared holidays or every other weekend type s**t, and you make the choice EVERY DAY to stay and love your person because those were the vows you made…

CELEBRATE YOURSELVES and start being loud about it! And while you’re at it- encourage other young couples to do the same!
