One of the little things I love about this stage of learning from home. ❤️

The kids have become so independent with their schoolwork that sometimes I just pop in to check on them, sit beside them for a few minutes, and see what they’re up to.

Except this time, I was apparently the distraction. 😂

I kept sneaking in kisses while she continued reading, completely unfazed by me.

It’s funny watching their independence grow while still getting to share these ordinary little moments together.

We learned about traveling with a carsick kid the hard way. 😅
After years of long road trips, there are a few things I automatically keep within reach now — including some very unglamorous supplies that have saved us more than once.
I finally put together what actually helped us, what I pack in the car, and the little things that made road trips more manageable.
If you also have a kid who gets carsick, hopefully our trial and error can save you some of your own. 😂
Everything we keep in the car + what worked for us:

Halloween food is one of my favorite parts of the season because it really doesn’t have to be complicated to be fun. 🎃👻

Over the years, we’ve made everything from silly breakfasts and easy lunches to cute Halloween treats—and a lot of them start with completely normal foods plus one little Halloween twist.

I finally pulled a bunch of those ideas together, along with plenty of easy ones you can recreate without spending hours in the kitchen.

If you’re looking for cute (not scary 😂) Halloween food ideas for kids, I put them all in one place:

Fun Halloween food ideas for kids, from easy snacks and treats to party food, dips and platters—with shortcuts and ways kids can help.

I really thought parenting would get less busy as they got older. 😂

Turns out the little-kid years just get replaced by a completely different kind of busy.

These days, it feels like all our free time is spent at the ice rink. Practices, games, waiting, snacks and apparently taking dinner with us now. 😂

But there’s also something really fun about watching your kids get older and find the things they genuinely want to keep showing up for.

And the funniest part? We’re really only getting started. 😅

So for now… I guess we live here. 🧊😂

Anyone else’s family basically live wherever their kids’ activities happen?

October is almost here, which means I can officially bring these back. 😂🎃
I pulled together 25+ of our favorite Halloween crafts and activities for kids from over the years — mostly cute, colorful, easy-to-pull-together ideas because scary Halloween has never really been our thing. 👻
There are painting ideas, paper crafts, sensory activities, Perler beads and plenty of things you can do with supplies you probably already have.

I swear they can sense it. 😂
You can be standing, cleaning, working, walking around the house for an hour and nobody needs anything.
But the SECOND you sit down?
“Mom?”
“Can you help me?”
“Where is…?”
“Can I have…?”
Bonus points if you just got comfortable or finally have something to eat. 😂
Please tell me this is not just my house.

There are so many things you do for your kids without thinking twice about them.

You hold them steady. Tie the shoes. Read the book. Make the thing. Help with the next step.

Then one day they start doing it with you. And eventually, they just… do it themselves.

The funny thing is, I don’t remember the last time I tied either of their shoes. Or the last time they needed me for so many of the little things I used to do every single day.

There usually isn’t a big moment when it changes. You just slowly step back as they step forward.

And somehow, looking through old pictures is when you realize just how much has changed. ❤️
