Subscribers to the Dawson Sentinel should note that we are working with the post office, Minnesota Newspaper Association and our State Representatives to find a solution to why the mail and newspaper distribution has changed. Be assured that I am not accepting answers such as the US Postal Service has staffing problems or that parcels receive priority. Our papers are delivered to the post office every Tuesday by 9 am as always. I have been informed that some readers in Montevideo do not receive the Sentinel for seven to 10 days later. Not acceptable. This is not a local post office issue but much larger. A temporary solution is if you are in town, you can stop by and pick up a copy every Tuesday morning and stilll receive the subscriber rate. We work hard on gathering news and ads, laying out the paper and getting it to the printers every week on time. The Sentinel pays the postal service very well each week to deliver our product on time depending on the weather. I expect the same care and dedication from the postal service. I have discussed this with Representatives Dahms and Swedzinski for their help and may have to visit with our federal representatives to find a solution.
