The Light Found Me

I was once a little girl
who learned too early
that some hands could hurt,
that some words could wound,
and that silence
could become a cage.

So I learned to disappear.

I tucked my truth
into the quiet places,
buried it beneath shame
that never belonged to me,
and carried wounds
no child should have known
how to carry.

But I survived.

Not beautifully.
Not gracefully.
Not without breaking.

I survived
one fractured piece at a time.

And somewhere between
the girl I was
and the woman I am becoming,
I began to understand...

A web is not weak
because it is delicate.

Look closer.

Every thread
is connected to another.
Every broken place
can be rewoven.
Every strand
holds the story
of what it took
to keep going.

So I began
to weave myself back together.

With truth.
With tears.
With the courage
to finally say,
This happened.

It hurt me.
It was not my fault.
And it does not get
to own me anymore.

I found my voice
in the places
where fear once lived.

I found strength
where I thought
only scars remained.

And I discovered
something extraordinary...

The light I had spent
so many years searching for
was never waiting
somewhere outside of me.

It was already there.

Buried beneath the darkness.
Flickering beneath the fear.
Still alive
beneath everything
that tried to extinguish it.

And now...

I don't hide my scars.

I don't apologize
for the threads
that hold me together.

I don't silence
the little girl
who once had no voice.

I listen to her.
I believe her.
I protect her.

And I carry her
into the light.

Because I am not
what was done to me.

I am what came after.

I am the truth
that survived the lie.

I am the voice
that survived the silence.

I am the light
that survived the dark.

And every thread
they thought would break me
became part
of the woman
I am becoming.

Still here.
Still growing.
Still becoming.
Still shining.

And this time,
I choose the light. 🕸️✨

🌿 Wednesday Wisdom 🌿

Healing isn’t just about moving on,
it’s about learning how to feel safe in your own body and mind again.

For many survivors, safety wasn’t always a given.
So your nervous system learned to stay alert, guarded, and ready.

If you still feel that sometimes… there is nothing wrong with you.
That’s not weakness, that’s your body trying to protect you.

But here’s the gentle wisdom for today:
You can begin teaching yourself that you are safe now, one small moment at a time.

It might look like:
Taking a slow, deep breath
Placing your hand over your heart
Stepping outside and feeling the sun on your skin
Reminding yourself, “I made it through”

These small moments matter more than you think.
They are how healing begins to take root.

You are not broken.
You are learning safety again.
And that is powerful. 💛

Still Becoming

I was a child with quiet eyes,
Too wise for years, too small for size,
Holding storms I couldn’t name,
Learning early how to tame
The chaos no one else could see,
A war that lived inside of me.

I learned to smile, to not be loud,
To disappear within a crowd,
To read the room, to shape, to bend,
To play the part, pretend, pretend.
Because survival dressed like grace,
And fear had memorized my face.

There were nights I’d hold my breath,
Afraid of shadows, scared of death,
Not in the literal sense,
But death of voice and innocence.
A fading light, a stolen spark,
A little soul left in the dark.

And though the world kept spinning fast,
I stayed entangled in my past,
In echoes whispered through my skin,
In battles no one else had been.
But still…beneath the fractured seams,
There lived a girl who dared to dream.

She dreamed of peace, of softer days,
Of love that didn’t come with haze,
Of being held without the fear
That something harmful lingered near.
She dreamed of standing in her truth,
Reclaiming all that marked her youth.

But healing isn’t straight or clean,
It’s jagged paths and in-between,
It’s breaking open, falling through,
Then learning how to build anew.
It’s crying out for what was lost,
And counting every hidden cost.

It’s looking back with clearer sight,
And choosing still to move toward light,
It’s holding pain with gentle hands,
Not rushing what it demands.
It’s learning I was never wrong,
Just forced to carry what was strong.

There were days I almost stayed
In versions of me trauma made,
Where worth was something I would earn,
And love was something I would learn
To beg for, shrink for, chase, and prove,
Mistaking pain for something true.

But slowly…something shifted deep,
In quiet moments I would keep,
A whisper rose: You are allowed
To stand unbroken, whole, and proud.
To take up space, to just exist,
To not be defined by what you missed.

I started stitching back my name,
Unlearning guilt, releasing shame,
Letting the girl I was before
Step gently through an open door.
I held her close, I let her cry,
I told her, “We survived. That’s why.”

And now I walk a softer line,
Where healing isn’t a finish line,
But sacred ground beneath my feet,
Where grief and growth so often meet.
Where every scar, both fierce and true,
Whispers, "Look at what you grew."

I am not who I used to be,
But not yet all I’m meant to see,
A living, breathing, tender space,
Still learning how to hold my grace.
Not fixed, not finished, not complete,
But rising every time I meet

The echoes calling from my past,
I answer now: You did not last.
You shaped me, yes, but here I stand,
With healing woven through my hands.
No longer just what I’ve been through,
But someone still becoming…too.

So if you find me in-between,
In spaces raw and rarely seen,
Know this: I’m walking, stepping slow,
Through all I’ve had to learn and know.
Not broken, no, not anymore…

Just becoming something more.

Today is my birthday, and this year,
I’m not just celebrating another year of life…
I’m celebrating everything it took to get here.

The strength it took to survive.
The courage it took to keep going on days I wanted to give up.
The growth that came from moments that once tried to break me.

There was a time when I didn’t know if I would ever feel whole again.
A time when the weight of the past felt heavier than the hope for the future.

But today, I can say this with my whole heart:
I am still here. And I am still becoming.
Healing didn’t happen overnight.
It came in layers… in tears… in small, quiet victories no one else could see.

And today, I’m choosing gratitude...
For how far I’ve come,
For the strength I didn’t know I had,
And for the person I am still growing into.

If you’re reading this and you’re still in the middle of your healing,
please hear me when I say:
Your story is not over.
There is still growth ahead of you.
There is still strength within you.
And there is still so much life waiting for you.

Today, I celebrate survival.
I celebrate healing.
And I celebrate becoming.

And if no one has told you lately, I’m proud of you for being here. 💛

🌿 Monday Echo 🌿

A new week is beginning, and with it comes another chance to take one small step forward in your healing.

Sometimes we think progress has to be big or dramatic to matter. But in truth, healing is often built in the quiet moments, the ones no one else sees.

It’s choosing to get up when the weight of the past feels heavy.
It’s choosing to show yourself kindness instead of blame.
It’s choosing to believe, even a little, that your story is still being written.

If today feels overwhelming, remember:
You don’t have to carry the whole week at once.

Just focus on the next breath.
The next step.
The next moment of choosing yourself.

The echoes of the past may still exist, but they do not have the final word in your story

You are still here.
You are still healing.
And that matters more than you know. 💛

🌿 Wednesday Wisdom 🌿

One of the hardest parts of healing from trauma is learning how to be gentle with yourself.

Many survivors were taught, directly or indirectly, to carry shame that was never theirs to hold. Over time, that shame can turn into harsh self-talk, doubt, and the feeling that we’re somehow “too broken.”

But here’s today’s wisdom:
The way you speak to yourself matters.
Healing often begins with small shifts, like noticing when that critical voice shows up and gently replacing it with truth.

Instead of: “Why am I still struggling?”
Try: “I’m healing from something difficult, and healing takes time.”

Instead of: “I should be over this by now.”
Try: “My healing is allowed to unfold at its own pace.”

The kindness you offer yourself today can become the foundation your healing grows from tomorrow.

So if no one has told you lately:
You are worthy of patience, compassion, and peace. 💛

🌿 Tuesday Reminder 🌿

Healing doesn’t always look the way we expect it to.

Some days it looks like strength, progress, and hope.
Other days it looks like taking a deep breath and simply getting through the day.
Both are part of healing.

If today feels heavy, please remember this:
Your progress is not erased by a hard day.

Every time you choose to keep going…
Every time you show yourself even a small amount of kindness…
Every time you refuse to let your past define your worth…
That is healing in motion.

So wherever you find yourself today, be gentle with your heart.
You are doing better than you think. 💛

🌿 Monday Echo 🌿

Sometimes the past echoes louder than we’d like.
Old memories. Old pain. Old questions that still don’t have answers.

But here’s the truth I want to echo back to you today:
You are not the same person who first endured what happened to you.
You’ve grown.
You’ve learned.
You’ve survived things that once felt unbearable.

Even if your healing feels slow… even if today is a hard day… your strength is still real.

Let this week begin with one gentle reminder:
You are allowed to take your healing one moment at a time.

The echoes of your past may still exist,
but they no longer get to decide the ending of your story.

✨ If this message speaks to you, leave a 💛 or share a word that describes what you need most this week.
