In February, when I launched Yeni Media (at this point still living in Green Bay), most people thought social media consulting was a brilliant concept – social media was starting to infiltrate our lives at many levels and businesses needed help figuring it all out.


The Harvard Business Review writes, "It's no secret that social media - global, open, transparent, non-hierarchical, interactive, and real time - are changing consumer behavior and workplace expectations. As a result, the best businesses are creating comprehensive strategies in this area to support their goals."


Since January, more people have voted for causes on Facebook than voted in the last presidential election.


We always talk about the grand results of social media on businesses. Then we showcase already hugely successful brands and how they managed to connect with customers online. But what about small businesses that only want local outreach? There needs to be more specific thought on social media strategies with local focus.

I played around with two mindmapping softwares, MindMeister and Mind42. I am not 100% convinced by either of them, but Mind42 still wins by far in my book. Easier to navigate, unlimited mindmaps, and easire to embed.
