ar, the Founder of South Dakota Senior, was that young mother. In the years since, she built several publications—for families, women and in specialty categories. Today, as she has for the past three decades, Vicki has a passion for information and resources. As an advocate for healthy and active aging, Vicki, a senior herself, is excited to be building a community of peers that will benefit from the information shared in their quest to live life to its fullest. The Guide will be distributed throughout the Black Hills. A list of locations will be published as we get closer to publication. If you're interested in distributing the free Guide, email your request to [email protected] or message us here on the page. National Senior Citizens Day

On August 19, 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5847, declaring August 21st as National Senior Citizens Day. This special day reminds us to recognize and celebrate the wisdom, experience, and countless contributions that our senior citizens bring to our families, communities, and nation.

To all of our seniors — thank you for paving the way, sharing your knowledge, and enriching our lives every day.

Let’s take time today to honor and appreciate the seniors in our lives — whether it’s a family member, friend, or neighbor. A simple “thank you” can mean so much.

Happy National Senior Citizens Day!

This is a pic of my favorite senior citizen but I should check her age again since she looks so incredibly young!

Vicki Dar, the Founder of South Dakota Senior, was that young mother. In the years since, she built several publications—for families, women and in specialty categories. Today, as she has for the past three decades, Vicki has a passion for information and resources.
