When I started Jim's EV Adventures, the goal was simple: show real life with an EV — the good, the annoying, the myths that needed busting — without anyone paying me to say nice things.

Hitting 15,000 subscribers this week means 15,000 people decided that honesty about EV ownership was worth their time. That means more to me than any view count ever could.

To everyone who's commented, argued with me (respectfully!), shared your own charging stories, or sent me an email about a myth you'd heard — you built this with me. This community is the whole reason I keep making these.

Just spent 15 minutes on the interstate (I-4) counting pickup trucks that passed me.

31 passed me going my direction (all over 75 mph). Only ONE was towing anything. That's 124 trucks per hour, and 97% of them are just moving one person from point A to point B. Full-size crew cabs with V6 or V8 engines, getting 14-15 mpg at 70-plus mph.

Meanwhile, a Slate pickup would use about a 85-cents worth of electricity for that same stretch. If you're not towing or hauling regularly, why pay full-size prices and full-size fuel bills?

The Slate gives you the utility you actually need for a fraction of the cost.

Today (July 16, 2026 at 3:57PM eastern), I will take on the issue of "EV Sales are Tanking!" This story has permeated the headlines in the USA. But the USA is NOT the "world!"

As EV Sales accelerate around the world, and the use of petroleum decreases, what will that do to the price you pay at the pump? Or the price of a new ICE car as manufacturers stop making the wasteful hunks of junk?

It is time for people to wake up and stop listening to the naysayers who suffer a severe case of C-R interlock. EVs are here to stay and they will take over the highways of our great nation. The only question you should ask is--when!?

On June 20, 2026, an auto-carrier carrying 6 Tesla vehicles caught fire. Here is the link to that story:

Well - here it the cause of the fire. IT WAS THE TRAILER! Not the Teslas!

The cause has been identified as a brake pad on the trailer that ignited and spread to the rest of the truck, then to the cars.

So, you see...yet another attempt to blame the EV for something that isn't the EVs fault. Maybe Tesla should stop using worthless, worn on hunks of junk to haul their brand-new vehicles.

In 99 percent of the incidents where EVs are blamed for the fire, it will always wind up being another source for the start of the fire.

A vehicle carrier hauling six Teslas caught fire on the Florida Turnpike near Hobe Sound, closing the turnpike and I-95 overnight.
