How many wins is a coach actually worth?

Jim Harbaugh takes over a team that won… what, 4–5 games?

So what’s the impact?

+1 win?
+2 wins?

Or is he a +3 win coach just by walking in the building?

Because it’s not just coaching—
it’s culture, roster decisions, draft, development… everything.

Some coaches don’t move the needle.

Others change everything.

Huge chain around your neck…

And then you drop two balls in centerfield.

At what point do we ask—
why are guys playing with all that on?

Chains, accessories, stuff hanging off uniforms…

Meanwhile you’ve got sliding mitts to protect your hands.

So you’ll protect your fingers…
but not the thing swinging off your neck?

Doesn’t add up.

Taking the franchise tag is basically saying:

“I’m better than the top 5 guys at my position.”

That’s a big bet on yourself.

Yeah, it’s guaranteed money…
But you’re turning down long-term security.

Even kickers are getting $13M deals now.

So if you take $12M on a tag,
you better believe you can beat the market next year.

Confidence level has to be different.

It’s always shocking…

You hear a name like Mike Evans or Bryce Harper and think:
“Yeah, they’ve been around forever.”

Then you see the age—
27.
29.

How?

It’s because these guys have been in the spotlight since they were teenagers.

By the time they’re “in their prime,”
it feels like they’ve already had a full career.

And for running backs?

Five years in the league feels like a lifetime.

Joe Burrow saw Jessica Alba at the Super Bowl…

Just like everyone else did.

Difference is he actually did something about it.

Everyone else went to YouTube after
watching the halftime show like:

“Wow… Jessica Alba still got it.”

Burrow? Went and got the number.

Different level.

Franchise tag money is based on position.

So when a running back is getting $30M+
and a kicker is getting a fraction of that…

That decision didn’t happen in the NFL.

It happened when you were 5.

“Try running back.”
“Nah… I’ll be the kicker.”

Fast forward 20 years…
Now you’re asking why the numbers don’t match.

Position matters. From day one.

So what does that mean for Alvin Kamara?

Five-time Pro Bowler.
One of the most dynamic backs in the league.

And now…

Feels like he just disappeared.

Is it the system?
The coaching?
Or just the reality of running backs hitting that wall?

Because when it happens… it happens fast.

But Kamara feels like a guy who could still bounce back.

The NFL has a 52-hour window before free agency where teams can talk to players…

But they call it “tampering.”

That might be the worst possible word.

Tampering sounds like:
• a crime
• a murder investigation
• something you definitely shouldn’t be doing

Meanwhile it’s just owners and GMs saying:

“Hey… we really like you.”

Maybe the NFL needs a rebrand.

Atlanta might have the best stadium food prices in America.

At the Falcons stadium you can get:

$2 soda
$3 burgers
$3 hot dogs

You can literally walk out with burgers, fries, drinks, and ice cream for about $30.

Meanwhile in New York…

Two beers at Yankee Stadium might cost you the same thing.

If every stadium did this, would people go to more games?
