PUMPING MACHINE MAINTENANCE TIPS (PART 1)

I am Chimnedum. I told you I would be sharing more knowledge about pumping machines and how to maintain them properly.

The pump you are seeing in this picture is the Golden House Submersible Pump — a durable and reliable pump designed for efficient water pumping. We currently have sizes ranging from 0.75HP to 1.5HP available.

Today, let us talk about some important things you must do to make your pumping machine last longer.

1. Ensure a Good Power Supply

One of the biggest enemies of a pumping machine is poor electricity supply. Avoid running your pump with low voltage because it can put unnecessary stress on the motor and reduce its lifespan.

When using public electricity supply (NEPA/PHCN), use a properly rated stabilizer to protect your pump from voltage fluctuations.

When using a generator, make sure the generator produces stable power suitable for your pumping machine.

2. Protect Your Control Box

Your control box is an important part of your pumping system. Always keep it protected from water, dust, insects, and construction debris.

If any component inside the control box becomes faulty, replace it immediately. Do not ignore small faults because they can affect the entire system.

3. Never Bypass Your Overload Protector

If your overload (circuit breaker) becomes faulty, do not allow anyone to bypass it with direct wiring.

That small component is there to protect your motor. Replace it with the correct size.

Depending on the ampere rating, it can range from about ₦2,500 to ₦4,000. We have different sizes, including 12 amps, 16 amps, and others.

Always use the correct rating recommended for your pump. Do not reduce the ampere size.

4. Use Your Pump Regularly, But Avoid Overstressing It

Regular use does not destroy a quality pumping machine. In fact, proper usage helps keep the motor system active.

However, avoid forcing your pump beyond its capacity. For example, if you have two tanks, it is better to pump them consistently during the week than to overload the machine by pumping many tanks in one day and leaving it unused for a long period.

Remember: proper installation, good electricity, and regular maintenance are what help your pump serve you for years.

Let's talk about the Golden House Submersible Pump.
In my experience, this is one of the best deep-well pumps currently available. The model I often recommend comes with a 1,100-watt motor (1.5HP), runs on a single phase, and delivers impressive pumping speed and performance.
One thing I appreciate about this pump is its durability. Although it is not made with 100% copper winding, it has proven itself over time. Many plumbers and borehole technicians who have worked with this pump testify to its reliability and efficiency.
