A serious labor of love. Episode 05 of WIND was possibly more for me than anyone else. Returning to the roots of my faith in the Pentecostal tradition was a long time coming. It was about reformation... not deconstruction. Digging back into the scriptures to understand that the empowerment of the Spirit is about finding that balance between a God that dispenses grace but who also requires holiness. Two of the most important names in the Bible you probably do not know... Lois & Eunice... Timothy's grandmother and mother. For the Apostle Paul, his confidence in Timothy's faith was based on the simple fact that Timothy had a praying grandmother and mother. (2 Tim. 1:5) The result... the entire region of modern-day Turkey would benefit from hearing about Christ from this young pastor who would be martyred for his faith. All because of two women who took their religion seriously. For those who frown on women leaders... take a seat. Timothy, and conversely all of Ephesus were in the debt of these two ladies. For me... it's Mydra and Brenda. My grandmother (mom's side) and mother. So in Episode 05 of WIND I go "down home." I explore the Methodist roots of my maternal heritage... and even meet residents who recall the devout faith of my family in this region. The wind blows where it wil (John 3:8)l... and this includes Toddville, MD. Literally the uttermost parts of the earth.

I shoot resource videos unscripted. It's a conversation. I want leaders to feel as if they can own the material, so our training videos are filmed in a format where we review the answer key to the study guide, but also explain the episode in a "behind-the-scenes" format that gives the leader further insight into the illustrations, metaphors and concepts developed. Here's the first 6 minutes of Episode 04. What's a comet have to do with teaching the Bible? I'm going to invite you to study Jesus' words in Mark 16 that signs and wonders are supposed to "follow" (KJV) his disciples. And I want to use a comet to do that. Additionally, I'll help you understand how to handle a chapter like Mark 16 which isn't fully supported in every translation. But first, well, I have to actually photograph the comet.
