Two things happened recently that I've been thinking about as a digital marketing agency.

A former client told me his high school son will be taking over their business socials. Another client I absolutely adore, who was with me for two and a half years, is moving to AI.

I cringed, then smiled and said nothing. But I have (lots of) thoughts. And yesterday gave me the perfect example to share them.

The World Cup is happening right now and Houston is electric. I have a client running food and drink specials with every game on. Yesterday and today, Fan Fest events got cancelled due to weather. Thousands of frustrated fans suddenly had nowhere to go and were learning in real time via social media about the cancellations.

Within minutes we were posting that they (our client) were open, dry, and the perfect place to watch every match. Free shots when your team scores.

What we did next is what sets us apart.

We then went to work commenting on hundreds of accounts as our client: news stations, anchors, influencers, visiting fans, locals, anyone sharing about the cancellations. We showed up in those conversations in real time and pointed people straight to our client's door.

We also wove World Cup and Houston-specific SEO into every caption and story so that anyone searching for where to watch the games could find them.

That is what you get when you hand your social media to a team that is actually watching, thinking, and responding in real time on your behalf every single day.

Can an AI model do that? Maybe parts of it. Can a high schooler? Maybe a quick thinker and go-getter.

I went to Chicago for a client event | video shoot and these were the only two photos I got:

1) showing my safety husband my PPE only to find out your shirt needs “4 inches of sleeve to be in compliance e” even thought I’m not sure what that would protect

2) a round of espresso martinis after tornadoes and 5 hour flight delays.

I am home now recovering lol - Happy Friday
