Horses teach us a little about freedom.
The Right Step, Inc. in Littleton, Colorado does just that by providing adaptive riding and horsemanship to clients aged 4 and up with a range of physical, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive disabilities.

When you think Wild Animal Sanctuary, you probably think lions, and tigers and bears. Oh My!
The Wild Animal Sanctuary happens to be the world’s largest carnivore rescue organization, rescuing Lions, Tigers, Bears and other large exotics. However, the organization has also rescued horses for all 43 years of its operation.
Most recently, they rescued over 100 horses that were a part of the Sand Wash Basin herd roundup in 2020. Luckily they didn’t have to move far, as they are in the same vicinity as their ancestors have roamed.

They are changing the lives of people with disabilities by promoting their physical, psychological, and social well-being through equine-assisted activities. provides Therapeutic Riding and Equine-Assisted Therapy services to children and adults with a wide range of special needs, including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, sensory integration disorder, Autism and Asperger’s, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, paraplegia, learning disabilities, multiple sclerosis, stroke, mental health issues, and behavior challenges.

“Les Dindons; (the turkeys) Sometimes One Will Do What Must Be Done”
For some people the West wasn’t won by beef. It was saved by turkeys. We have a fairly generalized view of what the Wild West looked like, especially in times barely behind the pioneers and gold rush. Untiedt tells history differently in his art based on a friend’s ranch’s history.

Right before this picture, Tony Stromberg watched as this Lusitano stallion reared up and came back down, swirling his mane & forelock around his face.
This gorgeous piece of unmistakable Stromberg art wasn’t captured in a special studio but rather on a private farm in the South of France. The pitted arena offered the perfect backdrop to make this guy stand out.

This piece is inspired by the western landscape. The colors are so vivid and I find myself dreaming in theses colors. I rode one of my horses on a beautiful trail the other day. The distant Mesa was a deep blue color. I had to paint it!
