The Green Children of Woolpit
Sometime in the 12th century, medieval chroniclers recorded a bizarre story from the English village of Woolpit.
Two children reportedly appeared with green-tinted skin, speaking an unfamiliar language.
Even stranger, they were said to have described a homeland where the sun never fully shone.
Over the centuries, people have proposed explanations ranging from folklore to illness, malnutrition, or displaced children from another community.
