We just saw Michael in Des Moines Playhouse Alice In Wonderland playing the White Rabbit.

And we will always be thankful for the time he snuck us ice cream during intermission of Godspell :)

This was this afternoon but we've been full on.

I LOVE Audra and missed when she came through Des Moines.

This was ah-mazing!!! At one point I thought she was going to have a breakdown and thought to myself "I'm going to be at the performance she has a breakdown!"

Our journey down the rabbit hole started in February with auditions and callbacks, disappointment and then excited apprehension. Rehearsals 12 hours a week for 6 weeks, then the excitement of tech week, costumes, props, hair and makeup, and opening night. 19 performances over 3 weeks, including two weekdays missing school for matinees. Lines and blocking learned, friendships formed, community built before and between shows. Closing, striking, cast party. It has been a ride, and I'm a very proud parent.

Thanks Des Moines Playhouse for creating such a welcoming community for learning, sharing, and performing. My little Executioner had such a positive experience, and as a parent, I was very happy we made the commitment amidst all of our family chaos.
