Master Gardener Monday - Q: Why can't I just leave the leaves? A: A blanket of leaves left on the lawn all winter will do more damage to your lawn then your back. The grass still needs moisture, light, and air over the winter. You're better off bagging or mulching and letting the grass get the nutrients it needs.
