Tonight marks the Harvest Moon (17 Sep 2024, 9:35pm Iowa time), defined as the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox.

"Shine On, Harvest Moon" is a popular song from the early 20th century, and was one of the most popular songs of 1908 (certainly one of the most recognized songs now, from that era). It had a resurgence of popularity during the second World War.

I performed "Shine On, Harvest Moon" during one of my "Live from Silicon Alley" concerts during the pandemic, and performed it using my Oscar Schmidt OU28TE 8-string tenor ukulele.

"Shine On, Harvest Moon" is a Tin Pan Alley tune, written by Nora Bayes and Jack Norwood in 1908. I performed it during my Facebook Live concert on 16 Sep 20...
