Dennis served as a dispatcher for the city of Des Moines, working tirelessly with both the fire and police departments, though his heart truly belonged to fire dispatch. Not only that, but he was also a dedicated volunteer firefighter and served our country in the military, starting his journey in JROTC in high school. The tradition runs deep in his family, with his brother serving as a Des Moines Firefighter and his father before him!
This is Part 1 of a very special series. Next week, we'll sit down with Dennis's brother, and for the first time ever on The Hotwash Podcast, Part 3 will feature Dennis and Micky together! We'll dive deep into their family's remarkable and long-standing tradition of service to our country and the communities they've lived in, spanning all the way back to 1910 with DMFD, WWII, DMPD, and so much more.
