We have 7 straight run (not sexed) BYM (barn yard mix) chicks up for discussion!! They are a little over a month old. Off the light. They are out picking during the day and still on chick starter.

Good chance of blues and olive greens when they come to laying age. The black and whites came out of blue/green eggs. Located in Desoto. Will meet in local areas, pm if interested. Will not seperate, must take all 7. 😊😊

Happy Thursday

Last 3 ducklings hatched yesterday. We're officially done with hatching for awhile ðŸĪ—ðŸ˜Ū‍ðŸ’Ļ.

Our turkey poults and lavender cochin bantams are growing nicely. Can't wait to get their next pens set up.

We do have a few barn yard mix chicks up for discussion if anyone is interested. They are a little over a month old. I'll get some pictures of them later. 😊

Have a great day everyone.

Happy Thursday!!

Yesterday we got some cherry tomato plants in the ground Large Red Cherry and the Yellow Cherry. Straight 8 cucumbers went in as well. Cherokee Purples too. Our Pineapple Hybrids are going in the pots so we can use the extra space for some more veggies. Egg plant and zucchini are going in (we got a little late start on those)

Herbs were planted throughout.

Dill and chives by the cucumbers

Sage by the carrots

Borage and Cilantro next to the slicer tomatoes

Basil next to our Romas.

Plenty more to be planted around the edges and such.

Hope you all have a great rest of you week. And weekend.

Oh my gosh, you do your nails and then go play in the dirt. What's the point??
..... Well Debra, Not that it's any of your business but they only cost $7 at the good ol walmart in town, so cheap sets for a homestead girl is just fine, they can come off in emergencies, and I don't bat an eye. Plus I like feeling pretty while I'm terrorizing the bugs and slugs that eat my tomatoes.

It's because I only like looking like a garden troll part time, the rest of the time I like to look classy and classic from enjoying garden time out in the sun and dirt. Maybe you should go stick your hoytie toytie behind in the middle of a garden and dig a little, then you'll be reminded of the soap and water we have and can wash up with. 😘😘ðŸĪŠ

The amount of times I have heard this. Like are nails supposed to make you so girly you forget how to work? Have you been away so long you forgot about soap and water?

Good morning all.

A little photo dump on this beautiful but muggy Wednesday.

The chicks settled into the brooder just fine, the garden got a good weeding over the weekend (finishing it up today), it got a good dose of diatomaceous earth to help keep the little creepy crawly critters at bay. Upon inspection we found a few blooms on the tomato plants. Excited about that.

More plants are headed down to be planted and then we should be good to go until cooler weather crops.

Have a lovely day everyone, stay cool.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

We hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We ended ours in the garden snipping green onions. Look at all of them 😍.

We're going to divy them up, and toss some in the dehydrator. If anyone would want some please reach out. We still have half a bed to snip.

The older chicks moved closer to the coop, brooder babies are going to the little redbarn, and the baby turkeys and bantam cochins are being moved into their brooder today.

Tuesday is here, the rain yesterday while was needed left the yuck behind, mud up to your butt lol (dramatics all the way).

Our page name is pips and seeds too, but we have a love of bulbs as well!! Your girl loves flowers, any kind, if they smell purty that takes the cake.

It didn't start off as love ðŸĪĢ about the 2nd year I planted bulbs and they did nothing, fighting the squirrels, bugs, the dirt. A few cross words and fine I won't plant anything in this spot, I was to the point of leaving them out of the plans all together, sadly because so many beautiful flowers and greenery are bulb starts. I'm glad I didn't let it move me away from them all together.

Look at this beautiful 'Striped Amadeus' Amaryllis.

I was gifted this beautiful flower bulb awhile back, and had started it in the house (it says it'll flower indoors). Well I got impatient, waited till early fall and plopped that sucker in the ground, lol came to terms if the squirrels and the bugs didn't have a hay day before spring we will see how she blooms.

Bloomed she did, 2 stalks from 1 bulb, 3-4 blooms on one stalk the other is looking at 2-3 blooms.
I can not wait to add more colors of this flower. 😍
