Mark recently found and subsequently purchased this Genuine GT Falcon that had been sitting in a shed in Tasmania for the last 25 years.

Mark has fired up the Starlight Blue XW Falcon GT (that has been converted to an XY on the exterior and fitted with a lot of GTHO gear), and got it moving under its own power for the first time in years.

Mark pulled the plugs out, poured a 2-stroke oil mixture into each pot, wound the engine over a few times by hand, put the same plugs back in, cleaned up the points, disconnected the fuel line and hooked it into a drum of 2-stroke fuel mix, and the old GT fired up on the third wind over. Absolutely brilliant!

Marks says, the engine is showing good compression on all cylinders, there is no blowing smoke or oil leaks, and with the brakes now done, next is a new exhaust.

- Matt’s scortmk2 was bought new by his grandfather in 1976, and more recently the four-door pocket rocket has progressively received a full nut and bolt restoration (over the last seven years).

The sparkling ruby red Mk2 Es**rt is running a 1700cc crossflow four-cylinder with a forged bottom end, Race Head, Crow Cam and Twin 45mm Weber carbs hanging off the side.

With the build now in the home stretch, Matt will hopefully get to hear the new engine kick over tomorrow and begin the run-in process.
