Beverly Ann Driller Collins, died Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was 81. Born Aug. 26, 1929 in Detroit, Mich., she was the youngest of seven children of Howard Fredrick and Clara Anna Seabright Driller. Beverly married James R. Collins in 1949, and they had their first daughter, Deborah Jean in 1950. Beverly and James went on to have four more children, Pamela, James, Terri and Kimberly. The Collins family moved to East Brunswick in 1968 from Redford, Mich., and became members of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church. Beverly's active participation in Christ Memorial showcased her divine Christian Faith. She worked for the East Brunswick Board of Education for 26 years, starting as a clerical aid at Warnsdorfer School, and she retired in 1998 as the secretary to the Principal. Family was most important to Beverly, and she spent many weeks traveling to see her loved ones in Florida, Colorado and Connecticut. Out of all the places she traveled to, Long Beach Island was her favorite. As an avid gardener, cat and bird lover, Beverly loved spending time at her house with her cat, Mr. Wilson, while watching the birds fly around her garden. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Jean Reay; and her ex-husband, James R. Collins, both in 1999. Surviving are four children, Pamela Collins Warren of Sarasota, Fla., James "Rick" Collins of Edison, Terri Collins Oberg of Southington, Conn., and Kimberly Kapschock of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Brent, Kristin, Kara, Eric, Jennifer, Christopher, and Vincent; two great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Adrianna; and many dear friends who were all so close to her heart. Upon talking with friends and family, she would always say, "Life is good," and it is with this motto that she lived her life. She was loved everywhere she went, touched many hearts, and will be missed dearly.
