When I watched this, it brought tears to my eyes because I experienced this with my granddad and to some extent with my dad during covid.

My dad was in independent living apartment during covid and visitation was restricted due to covid. My dad was a very social person who loved being around friends and family. That isolation affected his health in a detrimental way. But at least he had a phone and an ipad to communicate with us. I can’t imagine if he hadn’t had those means.

My granddad, omg! That is something I never want to experience again in life. My granddad was living by himself in my childhood home, when something happened and he had to be rushed to the hospital. He had to have a feeding tube put in or he would die. So I agreed to the feeding tube. When released from the hospital he went into a nursing home.

To listen to my granddad you would have thought he had big money, but he didn’t. Also, the fact that he didn’t want to be there, but had to be. So I guess the 1st nursing home believed him and tried to get guardianship. They wanted control of his assets. My granddad got a sense of what was going on and told me about it and I had to go to court many many many many times to get the situation corrected. The conservator had control of his money and wasn’t paying any of his bills, not even the taxes on the house. It was an absolute nightmare. I advise to avoid probate/guardianship/conservatorship at all costs. The conservators and guardians get paid from the estate.

With the people Wendy knows and the people who know Wendy, I have to say I am surprised this is going on as long as it has. 3 years is a long time to live thst restricted. It definitely takes a toll on your health. Maybe that’s the objective. Someone with power is pulling those strings. That definitely needs to be looked into. We need Ben Crump on this one. I don’t know Wendy personally or professionally, but we need Wendy out of there! She needs to be with her family.

LaShon knows film…I recently had the privilege of viewing this amazing drama based on true story, Six Triple Eight starring Kerry Washington (Scandal), Ebony Obsidian (Sistas) and Milauna Jackson. This was a star studded cast including Oprah Winfrey, Dean Norris, Donna Biscoe, Susan Sarandon, Sam Waterston and from Tyler Perry’s TV shows Bill Barrett (Oval) and Ben VanderMey (Sistas).

The film tells the story of the 6888 Black Woman Batallion led by Major Charity Adams during World War II. The batallion was charged with an order that was thought to be impossible to accomplish in the time frame given. The troop moved forward with the task which sparked this unforgettable movie.

The timing, story and message of this film couldn’t have been any better. This story needed to be highlighted at this very moment. There was a need for it.

This story was so moving it will bring you to tears. It make you angry, but gives you hope, as well as, makes you demand respect, but gives you a sense of accomplishment. So many emotions are triggered throughout the film. It’s my belief, this is Tyler Perry’s best film to date! Absolutely Amazing!

Overall, it is a good watch and held my attention. Great acting and triggers emotions.

LaShon knows film…I recently viewed the action packed thriller, Carry-on starring Justin Bateman and Taron Egerton. This film kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

The film is about TSA agents that are put in compromising positions that go against their job duties. One particular airport agent is not given any choice but to cooperate.

There are twists and turns along with unexpected possible real life events throughout the movie. Overall, it is a good watch and held my attention. Great acting and action.

I give it a thumbs up. Check it out!

LaShon knows furniture…Funiture Stories… I was working at Art Van and was assisting a couple. The husband and wife were both very tall. They were looking for a brown leather sofa.

The wife would see something she liked and would say I like this but I don’t like this about it. The husband said, I can fix it. The wife would say, Oh nooooo! The wife would something else she liked and say I like this, but I don’t like this about it. The husband would say, I can fix it. The wife would say, Oh nooooo!

The wife saw the perplexed look on my face and decided to let me in on their inside joke. She said they bought a new bed and mattress, but she wanted the bef to be higher. The husband told her he can fix it. She said he fixed it alright. She said you see how tall we are. We both need a foot stool to get in the bed. So when he says I can fix it, it’s my cue to select something else.

I guess that’s one way of getting out of a honeydo list. 😂😂😂.

LaShon knows film/tv… I binge watched Cross and I was not disappointed. Cross is an exciting, though provoking thriller and well worth the watch.

Cross is shown on Prime and stars Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross, Ryan Eggold (his nemisis), Isaiah Mustafa and (his bestfriend) and Juanita Jennings (his grandmother). Cross is not your average detective. He possesses a special gift that it used to crack cases. This season he faces an above average serial killer that has it out for him and his family. The villain stops at nothing to destroy him.

Cross is like a new millennium Shaft. I give it a thumbs up. It’s a good watch and held my attention the entire 8 episodes. Easy to binge watch because you want to know what will happen next. Great acting and good casting. Check it out!

LaShon knows furniture…I have met many families and couples as a home furnishing consultant. One of the cutest couples, was a middle aged couple that had been married for 20+ years.

The couple was shopping for several rooms in the home, but most importantly a new mattress. They had a king and was looking to possibly looking to downsize to a queen.

They both were trying out the mattress for comfortability, but also a decrease in sleeping room of a queen. The husband said no, the queen is too small. To his wife he said, “You know you fight in your sleep. If I was that close, you might knock me cold. In a King, at least I have a chance to avoid the swings“. 😂😂😂.

So none the less, they purchased a king mattress.

LaShon’s knows furniture…furniture stories…Art Van Royal Oak, the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday…I was first up. My first customer was a German man in the states to work for a corporation as a VP. He was preparing the home before his family came to join him.
I assisted him in furnishing his entire house with Art Van & Scott Shuptrine furniture and accessories …$35,000 total for my first sale of the day.

When his family arrived he brought the wife and kids and spent another $15,000. I am glad to have been able to assist them with furnishing their entire home with pieces their family will experience many memories.
Note: I loved selling furniture! I am available for consult and personal shopping experiences.

LaShon know film…I watched Rebel Ridge, an action/thriller about a marine who was on his way to bail out his cousin from jail and gets stopped by the police.

The film stars Aaron Pierre, who also played Malcolm X in the MLK/X Genius series on National Geographic. Aaron played Malcolm X madterfully, so much so I thought I was watching the actual Malcolm X. Rebel Ridge costarred, Don Johnson from Miami Vice. It has a familiar story line with a bit of a twist. Interesting story line but it struggled to hold my attention. The msin character never changed his facial expression the entire movie pretty much.
The acting was good, but it was missing something. It was equal action and thriller, but not enough action and not enough thriller. It gets a sideway thumb.

LaShon know film…I viewed American Murder: Laci Peterson, a 3 episode docuseries on Netflix. It is a docuseries about the missing person/murder case of Laci Peterson.

Laci went missing Christmas Eve, December 24, 2002. I remembered when it happened, and may have known some of the details. But this documentary included actual footage, interviews of experts, law enforcement and the family’s of both Laci and Scott.

The film cited intricate details about both lives, their lives together, the day Laci went missing and everything after. I had forgotten about the moving message from Laci’s mom, which brought me to tears.

It was definitely interesting and held my attention. I watched all 3 episodes back to back. If you ever wondered what happened with the Laci Peterson case, this is a good watch. It receives thumbs up. Rest in peace Laci & Conner.

LaShon knows food…I was delighted with food from Pura Vida in Pontiac, MI. The food was refreshingly delicious!

I have had their Jerk Chicken Nachos, which are very tasty. But today I choose the Jerk Chicken with Vegetable Rice. I am not traditionally a rice person, but they may have changed my view. The rice! OMG! Fantastic! The jerk chicken was seasoned to perfection.

Overall, everything was pleasing to the taste and worth the trip.
