No, California is not funding “nut huts” for homeless people.

But the idea itself raises a fair question: just because something is a human need, does that automatically make it the government’s responsibility to provide it?

Public s*x is a real concern. Creating another taxpayer-funded service isn’t necessarily the answer.

Five women have died at Huron Valley Women’s Correctional Facility in just the past few months. Today, protesters outside the prison had a lot to say about why.

Accountability. Transparency. Conditions inside the prison. And one question that came up again and again: Why are families and the public still being kept in the dark?

I spoke with protesters about what they believe is happening behind the prison walls, why they’re demanding answers, and who they think should be held accountable.

A positive THC test shouldn’t automatically mean separating a family or labeling a mother a child abuser. When the consequences are this serious, context and actual risk to the child should matter.

Whether you support or oppose harm reduction, the standard should be the same.

If taxpayers are funding it, show the evidence. Did it reduce death, disease, healthcare use, and public costs? If not, change it. If it did, let’s have an honest debate based on outcomes—not optics.
