Be honest… has Call of Duty lost its soul ?

There was a time when COD meant pure chaos and fun.
No battle passes. No 10 different bundles. No operators that look like Fortnite skins.

You jumped into MW2 (2009) or Black Ops 2, trash talked in the lobby, and played for hours just because it was FUN. The maps were iconic. The guns felt right. The grind actually meant something.

Now?
Every new COD feels like a seasonal job. Weekly challenges, limited-time modes, and a store screaming for attention.

The gunplay is still solid—but the vibe feels different.

So let’s argue 👇
💬 Which era was better: Classic COD or Modern COD?
💿 Name the COD that hooked you the hardest.

Are single-player games slowly disappearing… or just evolving ? 🎮

I can’t be the only one feeling this.
Every big studio today seems obsessed with live-service, seasonal content, and online-only experiences. Everything needs a roadmap, a store, and a “community manager” now.

But remember when single-player games were enough?
No login. No servers. No FOMO. Just you, the story, and hours of immersion. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, or Skyrim didn’t need daily challenges to keep us hooked—they respected our time.

Sure, multiplayer is fun. Playing with friends is great.
But not every game needs to feel like a second job.

So what do you think?
👉 Are studios abandoning single-player games, or are we just stuck in the past?
👉 Name a recent single-player game that proved they’re still alive and well 👇

Is it just me, or did gaming used to feel... more complete ? 🎮

Let’s be real for a second. I miss the days when you bought a game, popped the disc in, and you actually owned the full experience. No Day 1 patches that are bigger than the game itself, no "Battle Pass" shoved down your throat every 3 months, and definitely no "Early Access" games that stay broken for three years.

Don't get me wrong—the graphics we have now on the PS5, Series X, and high-end PCs are mind-blowing. $Ray Tracing$ is cool and all, but I’d trade 4K textures any day for a game that doesn't have 15 different microtransactions in the main menu.

I miss unlocking secret characters by actually playing the game, not by entering my credit card info. Are we becoming too cynical, or has the industry lost its soul to corporate greed ?
