Dialogue

Dialogue Follow us on Twitter! @dialoguedetroit Detroit Dialogue is published by Crain Michigan State University Detroit High School Journalism, a program of the Michigan State University School of Journalism, to provide a platform to showcase the work of student journalists in the city of Detroit.
(5)

Dialogue has been established as a forum for student expression and as a voice in the uninhibited, robust, free and open discussion of issues. Digital and print editions of Dialogue should provide a full opportunity for students to inquire, question and exchange ideas. Content should reflect all areas of student interest, including topics about which there may be dissent or controversy. All work is prepared by students at participating Detroit high schools. Students, who retain full legal rights to the materials they produce, receive advice and training from program staff and mentors throughout the publication process.

How I went from an Auntie Anne's employee to apprentice at the Free Press

King's Destiny Jenkins-Jones: "The Detroit Free Press Summer Apprentice Program was nothing like that job at the mall. I took that job at Auntie Anne’s simply to make money. But I completed the apprentice program to do what I love. And I did that — even during a pandemic."

The deadline to apply for this summer's program is Tuesday, May 25.

I went from working in the mall to working for the largest news organization in Michigan. The COVID-19 shutdown has blessed me in various ways.
