NOW CASTING: Paid Roles.

Goin’ Thru the Motions is an upcoming film written and directed by Marc "Sonic" White and produced by Green Vision Syndicate.

Location and Date: Filming in Metro Detroit in May 2026. Locations TBD.

Logline: A pulpit to pew womanizer falls for a church girl with a secret much greater than his own..

Casting For:

JOSEPH HIGHTOWER - Black Male, Mid 20s. Well groomed, charming, fashionable, he is a player who goes to church to pick up women. He is also looking for his dream job in his field.

NICOLE MORENO - Latina Female, Mid 20s. A Devoutly religious Kindergarten teacher who is the definition of a “Church girl”. Has interests outside of church however.

NATALIE HAWKINS - Black Female, Mid 20s. Nicole’s ex best friend turned rival at church. She and Nicole don’t get along, at all. She has a history with Joseph.

EVELYN JOHNSON - Black Female, 40s. She is polished and image conscious and is always dressed in designer clothes. She tends to be gossipy and judgmental. She is Natalie’s mother.

CODY JOHNSON - Black male, 40s. He is Evelyn’s husband and Natalie’s stepfather. He matches his wife’s style and swag. Has a thing for Nicole.

SONYA JENSEN - Mixed black female, 40s. Joseph’s supervisor at his current job and attends Nicole church. She is a former street hustler turned born again Christian.

CURTIS ADAMS - Black male, mid 20s - Joseph’s best friend and co-worker. Loyal and humorous, he’s always down to clown. Loves being single and childfree and doing what he wants.

MARCELL ROGERS - Black male, mid 20s. Joseph’s friend/co-worker. He is tall and built like a NBA player. He has a young son and likes women much older than himself.

TRAVIS MCKNIGHT - Black male, 40s. Joseph’s friend/co-worker. Is the “Unc” of his friend group. He’s married and tends to talk down marriage, but doesn’t really mean it.

REVEREND CLARENCE L. SHELL - Black male, 50s. The pastor of Nicole’s church. He is real no nonsense and has a commanding , yet warm voice and presence over his congregation.

CLARE WILLIAMS - Black Female, 20s. Nicole’s best friend/co-worker who’s a first grade teacher. While she doesn’t go to her church, she often hangs out with Nicole and always has her back.

ROXANNE - Black Female, late 30s, early 40s. Heavyset. She attends Nicole’s church and is the one always putting together community events.

MILDRED THOMAS - Black Female, 70s. A long time attendee of Nicole’s church, she is the comic relief. She is the definition of a “dirty old lady”

DEREK- Black male, mid 20s. He is an active duty U.S. Navy sailor. Real neat and clean cut.
