Campus Martius Park to be Featured on the Detroit Mobile Audio Tour

Who doesn't love a good engagement story? Dave G. shared this memory of Campus Martius by commenting on our blog:

"We got engaged on the rink in 2010. It was a chilly night in December when we went to Campus Martius rink to go skating. We had been there once a few years before and really had a great time. What she didn’t know was that I had invited friends and family to hide at the north end to witness my proposal. As she skated around frustrated at me because this would be the perfect place to be proposed to, I was texting and waving at people to get in position. I would distract her by pointing out buildings that were designed by Albert Kahn. When we reached the north end of the rink, I handed her glasses to her and said “look to your right.” Expecting to be told about yet another old building, she was greeted by the faces and cheers of our family and friends. She spun around to see me on my knee, ring in hand. We will always remember that night at Campus Martius."

Have you heard of Stanley Christmas? He sued the city when they were trying to tear down Michigan Central Station. For our tour spot on the station we'd like to talk to him or others who are outside the people you might normally think of. Know anyone like that?
