Faith by Skeleton Crew® for Christmas in Detroit 3

Great song about "Faith" by Skeleton Crew® featuring the late Pastor Henry Covington & The My Brother's Keeper Choir. We met Pastor Covington, who was the subject of Mitch Albom's book "Have a Little Faith", during these sessions and learned of his incredible work in our community. When the choir showed up for the session one of the ladies was outside our front door @ Harmonie Park Studios crying...she said she had been homeless and slept in the park outside of the studio...& now she was singing on a recording called "Faith"...a moment I will never forget. Have a Little Faith...Merry Christmas Detroit!

Why Music: Redefining the 'M' in STEM

"I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for in the patterns of music and all the arts are the keys of learning." -- Plato

Why are music and the arts still looked upon as extra-curricular activities to basic elementary education? Why does the idea of funding these programs fall under the heading of charity or philanthropy?

Society Confidential: Scarab opening, Macomb benefit for Grimshaw

WCSX’s Doug Podell is helping organize a March 22 benefit, “A Night of Grand Love,” at the Macomb Music Theater (formerly the Emerald Theater). They’ll screen the Grande Ballroom documentary “Louder Then Love,” and there will be live music, with performances by Gary Quackenbush from the SRC, Scott Morgan of the Rationals (in perhaps his first public performance since his own medical treatment), and Dick Wagner and Friends from The Frost.

Tonight, famed rock poster artist Gary Grimshaw, a much-loved part of the Detroit music scene since his days designing Grande Ballroom posters in the '60s, will be honored by the Scarab Club with the opening of an exhibition of his work.

Michael Bolton filming documentary about the spirit of Detroit

Thanks to Julie Hinds & the Freep!
When a man loves a city, he’s got to make a movie about it. At least that’s the case for Michael Bolton, whose latest passion project is a documentary about Detroit and its potential for resurgence.

The Grammy-winning singer has been spreading an excess of good cheer in his hip new holiday commercials for Honda. But that’s nothing compared to his feelings for the Motor City.

“We are in love with the people we have met in Detroit,” he says. “It’s literally turned into a lovefest.”

Bolton will appear Thursday at the Macomb Music Theatre in a concert that will help benefit Holy Cross Children’s Services and the “No Child Forgotten” campaign.

The pop crooner hits Macomb Music Theatre on Thursday, but that's far from the only time he's been spending in metro Detroit. He's producing an upcoming documentary that plans to chronicle the Motor City's comeback.

"Thank You" to all who serve our great country! Mark & I were honored to be involved w Dave Mason on this great song as a tribute to the men & women who have given service to the United States of America! This song says it all...Thank You Dave Mason & Johnne Sambataro for writing this classic!

LYRICS
Written by Dave Mason and Johnne Sambataro

Only nineteen so young and green, somebody's son somebody's dream and somebody's hero
The women and men that stand and defend a flag that is burning
Don’t ever forget the ones laid to rest who fought for our freedom

Thank You
For those that don’t understand
Thank You
For all that you do
Thank You
It’s your love that protects this land
So Thank You
For letting us sing our song
Thank You

Right or wrong whose to say, gotta take a stand someday for what you believe in
Lets not disagree were just tryin’ to be free ‘cause it’s our salvation
Don’t ever forget when you see a vet just walk up and say it

Thank You
For those that don’t understand
Thank You
For all that you do
Thank You
It’s your love that protects this land
So Thank You
For letting us sing our song

You’d think that by now we’d have figured it out
Peace is always the dream you’ve just got to believe that war is never the answer

Thank You
For those that don’t understand
Thank You
For all that you do
Thank You
It’s your love that protects this land
So Thank You
For letting us sing our song
Thank You

Pop Evil Plays Macomb Music Theatre Sat Sept 21 – 2013 has been this Michigan-based band’s year! Their third album, Onyx has produced their first #1 rock hit, ‘Trenches’. They are well on their way to achieving another top single with ‘Deal With the Devil’. They’ve spent much of this year touring with bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Three Doors Down and Buckcherry to name just a few. Their shows are very polished, a sure sign that they’re ready to headline. Watching drummer Chachi Riot put on a show is worth the price of admission in itself.
