Little Caesars issued a heartfelt response after discovering a homeless person eating from their garbage bins. Instead of calling authorities or turning the individual away,

the restaurant chain left a note offering kindness and support. The message, posted on the store’s window, invited the person to come inside during business hours for a couple of slices of pizza and a cup of water—no questions asked. 🙏

I believe a page should be a magazine - specific to the wants, needs and interests of my client’s potential customers.

This client developed automotive accessories for 4x4 vehicles, offroading, camping and overlanding pursuits.

Posts like these were inspirational, educational and promotional.

Facebook allows each page 6 photos to tease the story visually. These are screen grabs from what I felt were the best stories out there.

Copy can be as long as needed and each post helped promote the club, community or enthusiast.

BUDGET …

This client had a budget of about $400/mo. I created two or three posts a week @$35/hr.

When a client is local, I enjoy visiting to take photos for general marketing, events and more.

My last local client was pre-Covid, an exciting new restaurant in Cape Coral.
SO much fun.

Would love another!

CATCHING UP

Hi Guys.
This page has languished because I didn't need it. I had a client who kept me fairly busy for TEN YEARS. I loved the work.

IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS
Before I moved to Florida all of my jobs in the Detroit area were automotive or automotive related. Chrysler was my favorite. For about a year I was managing editor of all their domestic brand websites. Jeep was especially fun.

This client's m.o. was along the same lines. We generated product ideas and backed a race team. I followed and found stories on racing, climbing and mudding, you name it.
Then overlanding became the cool thing to do. Fancy camping.
Within recent years - just for the heck of it - I threw in a post or two about car camping and was amazed at the response. People definitely want to travel, but finances are a problem.
Some of the vehicles they convert are mind-blowing. Many WORK FROM THE ROAD.
And yeah, many make it work in their cars.

ABOUT CAR CAMPING
Did you see Nomadland? "Director Chloé Zhao, who is known for her hybrid filmmaking, which combines documentary and narrative film and uses non-actors for lead roles, found inspiration in the true stories of Nomadland. And while her movie is not a documentary, in many ways Nomadland is more fact, than fiction."
Trailer attached. No pun.

MY CAR CAMPING EXPERIENCE
It's a good thing I paid attention to everything I learned because I wound up putting my skills to use when Hurricane Milton headed our way in October.

(We were very nearly destroyed by Hurricane Ian, a Cat 5 with 14' of flood surge in this area. More than 150 people died. Most of us still have some level of PTSD. Reminders of destruction are everywhere.)

When Milton approached, I had one dog and two cats to deal with; but I was ready with everything I needed and we did very well.

My stamina is not the best, so I simply headed north and 'timed' rest areas. Daytime or nighttime, taking the dog out, stretching our legs in a park-like setting and catching a snack and a snooze came to be second nature.

(Except for sleeping in front of a 24/hr. pot shop in south Michigan. Ask me about it sometime. Ugh!!!)

Anyway, I'm bracing myself for this summer because I don't expect hurricane seasons to ease up. Quite the opposite.

I AM ON THE PROWL NOW
I need to find work.
For clients, Facebook is an incredible bang for no bucks; unless you need a little help getting started ... or staying inspired. Our pages DO need to be fed regularly!

If you're using Facebook to promote yourself or your business, let's talk about it.

HELPING A LOCAL FOOD DRIVE
89 year old prepared and baked 100 fruit pies, one at a time, in her tiny oven.
Purpose is everything 🙏

"With this long overdue post I would like to introduce the wonderful Flo Osborne." Flo is 89 years young and lives in a assisted living facility. During the first lockdown and after, Flo in her little kitchen baked up to 20 yummy fruit cakes (so a little over 100 in total) for our food drive for those in need and supported us in helping other people before.
She made every single cake herself, mixed the dough, cut the fruit and then put it in her little oven. In my eyes, this is a great achievement for the community and once again clears up the prejudices that age stops one from still being part of society.
On the contrary, my frustration is that I couldn't get the local news, radio or TV to write about this wonderful woman's great work. That's why I address all the users here via Facebook, of which there are much more than in the mainstream media. Lets make Flo a social media heroine. "

Since Social Media turns most of us into amateur journalists, it’s beneficial to review Jim Lehrer’s rules ‘from a gentler time.’
The rules are similar for marketing writers.
Most important- in my opinion - is respect the intelligence of your readers.
And be honest or you’ll get your ass sued!

"I've seen this guy at Starbucks in Marin City several times. Every time I’d see him I'd tell myself that I would take him to lunch but always found an excuse not to. Today was different. It might have been selfish but I was lonely. I didn't want to spend the whole day alone. I walked up to him, put my hand on his shoulder and said 'do you want to have lunch with me?'
Tarec Atkinson was born and raised in Jamaica. When he was a kid, he dreamt of being a famous football (soccer) player. He was recruited to play in school but never got the opportunity because of some trouble he got in as a teenager. He moved to the states 8 years ago and has spent the last 12 months living in a tent by the side of the freeway. Tarec goes days without eating, sometimes living off of the berries he picks, he spends 90% of his time alone and has no friends and no family in the states. After hearing it had been a month since he bathed, I brought him back to my apartment so he could enjoy a hot shower. Because of all these hardships, trying to get a job is impossible. How can you fill out an application when you haven't eaten in days? I told Tarec that I would drive around with him next week and help him fill out applications and even speak on his behalf to help him land a job so he can get back on his feet. We agreed to meet that Friday at 9:30 AM at Starbucks.
If we were going to make this happen, I knew we had to get Tarec some new clothes. We stopped at Ross so he could pick out a shirt and some slacks. I was blown away at the immediate change in his demeanor. His smile was radiant, he stood up straighter, and even walked with a swagger. I couldn’t convince him to tuck in his shirt. I guess you win some and you lose some haha. Next step was to hit the streets. We spent the next two days going door to door to see who was hiring. We went to Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, Home Depot, Molly Stones, and Starbucks just to name a few. I would walk in with him so he knew he wasn’t alone. It can be overwhelming to walk into a business and ask for a job. I was very proud of him. We had a few positive responses but the majority of business’s told us that applications were submitted online. Easy enough right? Wrong.
Tarec doesn’t have a computer. So we went to the local library and began filling out applications. And let me tell you something. We take our computer literacy for granted. Watching him struggle to fill out an application put so much into perspective for me. Some people judge our homeless. We’ve all heard someone say 'why don’t they just get a job?' or 'they’re lazy' I saw firsthand how the “system” is set up to fail people like Tarec. There is no way he would have been able to do any of this without my help. Just like there are many things in my life I have needed someone to help me overcome an obstacle. We all need a little help.
After week of phone interviews Tarec landed an in person interview at Safeway. I remember driving to Safeway being nervous. I looked over to him and asked how he was feeling. He looked back at me and said “I got this”. I believed him. I dropped him off, wished him luck and waited. 20 minutes later, I see him walk out of Safeway with a big smile and a thumbs up. I let out a Rick Flair sounding “WOO!”. We had accomplished a lot together in two weeks. It was an incredible moment. Obviously we had to celebrate with a little ice cream! 🙂
Like we all are, Tarec is searching for a purpose in life. He yearns for happiness. He craves for a woman to love and to feel the love from a woman. He wants to create a better life for himself so he could one day have a family and stability. He is just like you and me. My hope in sharing this story is that it will inspire others to spread LOVE. We all need help in one way or another. Sometimes all someone needs is a friend. Thank you for taking the time to read my story."

I adopted my son at birth knowing he had a genetic disorder. He is now 6 and non verbal but uses sign for communication. We are fostering a beautiful deafie boxer girl (soon to be adopted!). She is amazing with my son. She is the most gentle, loving girl ever. The most BEAUTIFUL part of this adoption is my son and his dog can actually talk to each other! I highly encourage adoption of deaf dogs ... She is such a perfect addition to our family. We have been blessed with Ellie.

“My little man has been having severe anxiety since we moved into the new house. He’s so used to sharing a room with his big sister, who excitedly has her own room now too. I’ve tried everything under the sun to get him to sleep in his own room. Nothing is helping. He says he has something wrong with his head and that he can’t stop the scary thoughts that are creeping into it. He begged me to call the police and a doctor to help him. Seriously breaks my mama heart into a million pieces. So, in an effort to continue doing everything I can to help my son, we went to the station today so He could talk with a police officer. After the talk, officer Schwartz came over to our home to fully inspect his bedroom to assure him that there were no bad guys and that nothing in his room that would hurt him. Truly takes a village to raise kids right these days! I am beyond thankful that Officer Schwartz took time out of his busy day to come over and talk with Hayden. Afterwards he did sleep in his room all night! But didn’t go down without a fight (a 3 hour long one) I’ll fast forward the story and say that when I woke him up this morning at 7 a.m., he was SO proud of himself that he made it in there all night! Then, as I was snapping back to school pictures of Hayden this morning, Hayden’s face suddenly lit up and he said look mama, officer Schwartz is here. He came to see how Hayden did at bedtime last night and got some 1st day of school pictures with him! Hayden said, ‘I thought of being a cowboy just like you.’ Officer Bruce told him he thinks of what makes him happy when he lays down each night instead of the bad things that may happen during his days). I’m just at a loss of words honestly. Officer Schwartz, if you’re reading this, thank you from the bottom of my mama heart. The kindness you’ve shown Hayden certainly doesn’t go unnoticed and I know he will remember this forever. This too will pass and I’m happy Officer Schwartz had a hand in Hayden getting over this very normal hump most children experience.”🙏🏼❤️
