A $125 million expansion is expected to break ground this September at Huntington Place.

The project will add roughly 20,000 square feet of flexible event space and a new pedestrian bridge connecting to the future 25-story JW Marriott on the former Joe Louis Arena site.

The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2027, just in time for the NCAA Final Four. Plans also include improved pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle access between Second Avenue and the Riverwalk.

Things are getting greener at Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park

Acres of fresh sod are now being laid down, and the transformation is starting to take shape. This 22-acre park is coming to life with new grass, active sprinklers, and exciting updates throughout the space.

Over at the Delta Dental Play Garden, bold colors and playful surfacing are starting to take shape, creating a vibrant space for kids of all ages.

Heading to Detroit for memorial day weekend? Here’s what you should expect for Saturday & Sunday as major events will bring over 150,000 people to downtown!

Movement Electronic Music Festival kicks off on Saturday and will continue throughout the weekend. With Memorial Day weekend also kicking off, there will be plenty of parades, barbecues, and block parties as well!

The Detroit Tigers will be playing the Guardians on Saturday at 7:15pm and Sunday at 11:35am, so be sure to check out tickets for family fun!

Keep in mind, with all of the holiday festivities, music festivals, and sporting events, traffic will be heavy, so have a save and FUN weekend Detroit!

Fans were left pleasantly surprised at last night’s concert at Ford Field.

Post Malone brought his Big Ass Stadium Tour to Detroit last night, which was opened by artist Jelly Roll and a surprise guest, Detroits own Eminem.

Needless to say, Detroit fans will remember this concert for quite some time!

The Detroit People’s Food Co-op is celebrating its one year anniversary of bringing fresh food and produce to the people of Detroit.

Detroit People's Food Co-op is a Black-led and community owned grocery cooperative that provides healthy food and food education to the African-American, low and moderate income communities. They prioritize working with small businesses and local farmers to help lend a hand while lending their own.

The Detroit Motor City is BOOMING!

Detroit's population grew for the second year in a row, according to new estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.
In 2024, Detroit reached a population of 645,705 residents, which was a increase of over 6,000 from 2023!

This places Detroit at the 26th largest city in the nation, and we’re pretty proud of that!

The long awaited day is finally here!
Tonight, at 8pm est, the NFL will be releasing the schedule for the 2025/2026 football season!

The Detroit Lions have one of the toughest schedules according to Bleacher Report Football, but we have GRIT!

The Detroit Lions will also begin selling single game tickets on their website during the schedule release, so be sure to grab them before it’s too late.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced that the iconic fountain in Detroit’s Belle Isle Park will temporarily close amid a $6 million project for upgrades to ensure it maintains its functionality for years to come!

The James Scott Memorial Fountain was completed in 1925 and is celebrating its 100th anniversary this month! Crews will begin working on the fountain this summer and it is estimated to be finished in 18 months time.
