Detroit143 FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Detroit143 in Southwest Detroit provides news and marketing services to help neighborhoods make more of their dreams come true.

Detroit143, backed by the Knight Foundation and the Kresge Foundation, is a pilot project to demonstrate the impact of a neighborhood-based news organization on the autonomy and economy of a single neighborhood, Southwest Detroit. The news side is focused on supporting the neighborhood's autonomy with in-depth journalism aimed at issues identified by the residents. The advertising side is a small
