Last nights show at McMorran Plaza was awesome! I am so thankful. This band Detroit Blu is experiencing growth that I have not witnessed in any other project I've been in. Grateful just isn't strong enough a word. A huge Thank You goes out to our fans that keep coming to see us. You guys are the reason why! We're on to Tally Ho in Lakeport MI for tonights show. Looking forward!

Our friend and fearless leader Steve Soviak passed away August 24. He was a massive influence on our blues community. He founded the Mid North Michigan Blues society in the 2000's. When he moved to Detroit to care for his aging father he became president of the Detroit Blues Society for a few terms. Steve and I were friends and business partners. Together he and I resurrected the MNMBS and started the Blues Society Radio Network. Both of which are dedicated to helping blues societies, new and already established blues artists and bands, and uniting the movers and shakers of the blues community. Steve started a huge movement in the blues world, and I will carry on that legacy. Steve was not only a great friend - but he was also family.

I am organizing, along with 3 of Steve's closest friends, an event, Remembering Steve Soviak “the Ambassador of the Blues” - a Life Celebration. It will be at the Token Lounge in Westland Michigan. The tentative date is November 3rd. If you wish to come celebrate the life of this wonderful humanitarian with us, please let me know with a quick message in the comments below, or inbox me. I will be sure to share the info as soon as it is available.

Rest in Peace my good friend Steve Soviak. You are always remembered, never forgotten.
