Had dinner at Light Cantine in Madison Heights last week! 🍽️
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get any of their Sichuan dishes because we went on a Tuesday, which is the day their Sichuan chef takes his day off. But I also really like Cantonese food, so no harm there!
We shared half a roast duck, and the meat was pretty good. There was plenty left over for us to take home
Ethan got the roasted pork belly rice, which was delicious, while I had the stir fried wide noodles in XO sauce. I really liked this dish because it reminded me a little of Singapore style fried hor fun! 🇸🇬
For dessert, I got some crispy egg tarts. They came out hot and were SO good! The custard inside was really soft and creamy. I kinda wish I still had some left!
Just a heads up if you’re planning a visit: their Sichuan chef is off on Tuesdays, while their Cantonese chef takes a break on Wednesdays. So if you want to try both cuisines, keep that in mind! Otherwise, both cuisines should be available the rest of the week.
I love finding not so hidden gems and trying Asian food spots around Metro Detroit, so follow me to see what I try next! ❤️
