🚨 Watch for Impersonation Scams 🚨

Scammers do not always look suspicious. Sometimes they pretend to be your bank, your boss, a family member, tech support, a delivery company, or even the government.
Their goal is simple: get you scared, rushed, and reacting before you have time to think.
Before you send money, give out a code, click a link, or share personal information, pause and verify.

✅ Call the person or company using a phone number you already trust

✅ Do not use numbers sent in suspicious texts, emails, or popups

✅ Never send gift cards, passwords, verification codes, or banking information because someone pressured you

✅ When in doubt, slow down and ask someone you trust

CyberSafe Pups is here to help seniors, boomers, and everyday users stay safer online — one simple step at a time.

The CyberPups are back. 🐾🛡️

We may have been quiet for a little while, but the scammers definitely were not.

Today, one of our friends received a fake warning claiming their phone had been hacked.

The message used fear, urgency, fake technical details, and a big button demanding immediate action.

That is exactly how these scams work.
They want you scared.
They want you rushed.
They want you clicking before you stop to think.
Bear says: “Do not panic.”
Azula says: “Suspicious activity detected.”
Cypher says: “Stop. Verify. Then act.”
Never click a random “remove viruses” button. Never give payment information because a pop-up scared you. Close the message, check your device through trusted settings or official apps, and ask someone you trust before taking action.
CyberSafe Pups is back to help families and seniors recognize scams, protect their information, and stay safer online.

Stay calm. Stay alert. Stay CyberSafe.

🐾 CyberSafe Pups – Day 2

Everyone says…
“You NEED a VPN.”
But do you really?

The truth is simple:
A VPN can help protect your connection…
…but it won’t stop phishing emails, weak passwords, scam calls, or bad decisions online.

⚠️ If a VPN claims to make you “invisible”… be skeptical.
In this guide, we break down:
✅ When a VPN makes sense
✅ When it doesn’t
✅ What free VPNs may not tell you
✅ How to protect yourself without fear or gimmicks

⚠️ CYBER ALERT: Hackers are now using Microsoft Teams to take over computers.

It starts with a simple message…
“Hi, we noticed an issue with your device.”
Sounds legit, right?

That’s exactly what they want you to think.
🚨 Here’s what happens next:
➡️ You click the link
➡️ You install what looks like “helpful software”
➡️ They gain access to your system
➡️ Your data is exposed or stolen
🛑 Remember:

Real IT will NEVER randomly message you asking you to install software.

🔐 Always verify before you click anything.
🐾 Follow CyberSafe Seniors to stay one step ahead of real-world cyber threats.

Most people think clicking a bad link is the mistake.

It’s not.

The real damage happens after you log in.
That page might look real.

It might even come from someone you trust.
But once you enter your information, attackers can capture more than just your password.

They can take your session, your authentication, and use your login across multiple accounts.
Email. Banking. Social media. Everything connected.

That’s how one login turns into multiple compromised accounts.

No alerts. No warnings. Just access.
Always go directly to the website.
Never log in from a link.

Awareness is your best defense.

🚨 IMPORTANT: This is how people are getting scammed right now.

You receive a phone call…
They say they’re from Microsoft, your bank, or a “security team.”
They sound professional. Urgent. Helpful.
But it’s a trap.
👉 Real companies do NOT call you out of the blue to fix your device.
👉 They do NOT ask for passwords or remote access.

⚠️ If you get one of these calls:
❌ Do NOT trust the caller ID
❌ Do NOT follow their instructions
❌ Do NOT give them access to your computer
✅ HANG UP immediately
✅ Call the company back using their official number
Most attacks today don’t break into systems…
they trick people into letting them in.
This is called social engineering—and it’s one of the fastest-growing threats.

🛡️ CyberSafe Seniors never stops watching.
🐾 The CyberPups are here to help you stay one step ahead.

From our family to yours, happy Easter everyone.
