BREAKING NEWS

Jalen Duren has signed a 5-year, $200 million contract to stay with the Pistons, per Shams Charania of ESPN. The long, drawn out contract saga is over, and the Pistons big man is back before the preseason begins.

It took a long time, and looked uncertain for a while, but Duren coming back is the best thing for the Pistons. He was All-NBA last season. Hopefully he can get over a bad postseason and return to his all-star form.

I’ll have a post tomorrow with more thoughts, but good news for the Pistons.

Really happy to Roman Wilson finally get his shot with the Steelers. He has scored a touchdown in back-to-back games. Great to see it from the former Wolverine and national champion!

The last time Michigan played in Minneapolis, Will Johnson started off the game with a pick-6. Michigan won 52-10 to bring the Little Brown Jug home to Ann Arbor.

The Red Wings begin the 2026-27 tomorrow at Little Caesar’s Arena against the Rangers. Amidst the Dylan Larkin trade drama, Simon Edvinsson remaining unsigned, no permanent GM in place, and a 10-year playoff drought, things are bleak in Hockeytown. Here is my season preview for the Red Wings.

John Henry Daley, Andrew Marsh, Dom Nichols, and Andrew Sprague are all questionable for Michigan’s game at Minnesota. Blake Frazier is probable.

It’s not an encouraging injury list. Both starting defensive ends and tackles are listed, as is one of the two star receivers. With the bye week coming up next, hopefully these guys can play Saturday and get healthy for the second half of the season.

Bryce Underwood played very well on Saturday, despite the loss. He threw for 276 yards and two TDs, and ran for 36 yards. His connection with JJ Buchanan and Andrew Marsh has improved each week. Continued growth from the offense will keep Michigan in contention all season.

JJ Buchanan has been Michigan’s breakout star so far this season. He has 396 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 20 receptions, putting him on pace to be Michigan’s first 1,000 yard wide receiver since Jeremy Gallon in 2013.

The Red Wings are a complete joke. The season starts in two days. Simon Edvinsson is somehow still unsigned and in Sweden training, the team does not have a permanent GM or a captain, and Dylan Larkin is still on the roster and “injured.” Total dysfunction inside a once proud organization. It’s really sad to see.
