A large winter storm will impact the region Tuesday into Wednesday. A mix of rain and snow Tuesday will transition to all snow Tuesday evening. Snow, heavy at times will continue through Wednesday. Snow will be wet and heavy, which should reduce blowing snow impacts. The heaviest snow will fall from somewhere in southeastern ND into west central MN. This could still shift either north or south, and totals remain uncertain due to how much will melt. Check back for updates.

We're getting a better picture of the expected "Colorado Low" storm system expected Friday - Saturday.
The Devils Lake area will be right on the edge of the expected footprint of the storm, so the impacts will depend on the timing and temperatures.
The NWS is saying there will be a sharp cutoff line to the storm, around the Lakota area, where areas eastward will have more significant impacts than westerly.
Also, there will be some strong winds, causing some blowing snow and travel hazards.
If you have any travel plans to the Red River Valley this weekend, especially the Fargo area for the games, pay attention to quickly changing weather and road conditions.

*** OLD POST - OUT OF DATE ***

The heaviest snowfall rates are likely to be very late Friday night thru early afternoon Saturday. Here is where the current thinking is in regards to areas where the potential for 2 inches or more and 4 inches or more of snow are greatest.

We're getting a better picture of the "Colorado Low" system expected Friday - Saturday. The Devils Lake area is right on the edge of the storm's expected footprint, so the effects for us will depend on the timing and temperatures, but expect some rain, freezing rain and finally snow through Saturday morning.
The NWS says there will be a sharp cutoff line to the storm, somewhere around the Lakota area, where areas eastward will have much more snow and hazardous travel than west of that line.
Also, strong winds will cause some blowing snow.
If you're planning some travel to the Red River Valley, especially the Fargo area, pay attention to changing weather and travel conditions.

A Colorado Low system is becoming likely for late next week on the 14th. Still a ways off to pinpoint which areas will be affected, and precip possibilities but it could put a damper on our early spring. With temps likely in the 30s, there's always a possibility of freezing rain as well. We'll know more early next week.

Weather models are indicating the possibility of a winter storm impacting parts of the Northern Great Plains late next week. Because this is over a week in the future, uncertainty remains very high and will remain so until the storm track become more certain. Make sure to monitor the forecasts for the latest information.

We are heartbroken at the passing of our road brother, hero, and friend Joe Bonsall of the mighty Oak Ridge Boys.
The first time we opened for the Oaks was in 1984 at the Swiss Villa Amphitheater in Lampe, MO—and we couldn’t believe that we were getting to open the show for some true legends—and heroes. Joe was the first person to come over and say hey to us—and went of his way to make us feel at home. He always did.
A couple of years later, we recorded a song that featured Joe singing with us—“Out Going Cattin.” He even spent two days in New York City with us filming the video for that song. And even during the hectic chaos of the shoot, Joe never lost his sense of humor—and thanks to him, we didn’t lose ours either.
It was always a joy to see Joe. His enthusiasm for music and for life was contagious.
It would be an understatement to say that we love that guy—and we always will.
Our prayers go out to Mary and the family—as well as to Duane, William Lee, and Richard, who have lost a true brother.
If you hear some Oak Ridge Boys blaring from our houses today, you’ll know we’re remembering and celebrating our buddy.
God bless you, Joe!
