Dexter approved a $23,000 annual Flock Safety contract and two license plate reader cameras, but will wait for a court ruling before installing them.
City Manager David Wyman said the cameras would be used by officers to solve crimes, but they would not be installed until an ongoing court case over Flock cameras was decided. The case is to determine if the camears of constistutional, Wyman said. He further said this will give the city time to determine if any legislative action will take place and determine a direction as well.
