If you’re wondering how the back tension release is treating me, it’s been amazing!

For the time in years I’m able to put my pin on the “spot” and not freak out about it. Just focused on pulling through my shot instead of where my pin is at

Shot 100-120 shots throughout the day yesterday and had really tight groups. Better groups than I’ve shot in a long time

Pictured is my first 3 shots this morning. Almost had a robinhood, 2 touching and the 3rd is like 1/4” from touching the other 2 arrows

I’m having to shoot at different spots now

And yes, I’ve got to adjust my sight but not worried about that right now

Still a lot of work to do but dang, I’m pretty excited about this!

If you know me, you know I’ve been struggling with target panic. My pin sits at the bottom of the target then i fight with myself to get the pin to the “spot” and as soon as the pin hits the spot I’m punching that trigger like my life depends on it

I’ve finally said enough is enough

So I pick up my first back tension release. Carter Evolution 20

I’ve sent about 10 arrows this morning with it and holy cow!

I should have recorded my first shot with it 😂 but after a quick 10 shots I think I’ve got the hang of it and starting to really like it

Wish I would have done this awhile ago

My plan is to use this for most of the summer before I pick my hunting release in hopes that this step along with others will cure most of or all of my target panic
