If you know, you KNOW… boys can clear out a kitchen like it’s an Olympic sport. 😂

With all 3 boys here for the summer, I’m going through FOUR loaves of bread a week right now between sandwiches, burgers, toast, and nonstop snack requests. And honestly? It has made me realize even more how important it is to have fresh, homemade bread made with REAL ingredients in this house.

No long ingredient lists.
No unnecessary preservatives.
No mystery junk.

Just fresh bread made with organic, clean ingredients that actually tastes the way bread is supposed to taste. 🩶

These sourdough hamburger buns with sesame seeds are one of the featured stars on our summer menu for a reason. They are soft, flavorful, filling, and make your burgers taste a million times better than anything store bought. And our yeast sandwich bread? We literally cannot keep enough of it in this house.

I can even slice your sandwich bread for you so it’s ready for easy grab-and-go lunches all week long.

AND before y’all ask — yes, these freeze BEAUTIFULLY. 🙌

Both the sandwich bread and hamburger buns are freezer friendly for up to 3 months, which means this is the perfect time to stock up for summer. Pull out what you need, thaw, and you’ve got fresh homemade bread ready to go without another trip to the grocery store.

These Sugar Free Banana Pudding Cookies turned out SO good and still have all the nostalgic banana pudding vibes without the sugar overload. Around here, we believe you shouldn’t have to miss out on comfort food just because you’re watching your sugar intake. 💛

Y’all have been LOVING our specialty protein bites this summer, so let’s talk about them for a second because these aren’t your average “healthy snacks” that taste like sadness and cardboard. 😂

At Sarah’s Southern Kitchen, we use Truvani protein powder because ingredients MATTER around here.

Their protein powders are:

Orders reopen TOMORROW! 🩵

After taking a much needed week off with family, soaking up summer with the boys, and slowing down for a minute, we are officially back at it.

The ovens are warming back up, the starters are fed, and the kitchen is about to smell like sourdough heaven again. 🙌

Thank y’all for giving me the time to rest, reset, and pour into my family for a bit. This little bakery exists because of your support, and I never take that for granted.

Bagel loverssss 🥯✨

Did y’all know bagels date all the way back to the 1600s? Originally made in Jewish communities in Poland, bagels became famous for their chewy texture and shiny crust thanks to the traditional boiling process before baking. That old-school method is still what gives a REAL bagel that signature bite today.

People are passionate about their bagels too - especially when it comes to New York vs. LA style bagels.

New York bagels are known for that dense, chewy texture with a crisp outside, while LA bagels tend to lean a little softer and more creative with flavors and toppings.

Around here at Sarah’s Southern Kitchen? We like a little bit of both. We keep that classic chewy bakery-style texture while still having fun with bold flavors. Because life’s too short for boring bread. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Big things are happening at Sarah’s Southern Kitchen. 🩵

Before the end of the year, every menu item will have macros available.

This bakery was built from my own journey of losing 100 pounds and changing the way I viewed food, ingredients, and health. From the beginning, our goal has been to create baked goods made with more intentional ingredients while still tasting amazing.

We focus on:
• Cleaner ingredients
• Sourdough and high-protein options
• Lower sugar swaps
• ONLY organic ingredients
• Comfort food that fits a healthier lifestyle

As someone who tracks food myself, I know how frustrating it can be to enjoy eating out while trying to stay on track. That’s why we’re adding macros to every menu item — so you can order with more confidence and transparency.

No guessing.
No hidden ingredients.
Just real food made intentionally.

This will be a gradual rollout. Every recipe has to be weighed, tested, portioned, and calculated correctly, so with the size of our menu, the process will take time.

But it is coming. 👏

We’re excited because this is one of the biggest things setting Sarah’s Southern Kitchen apart from a traditional bakery. As we roll this out, we’ll continue improving recipes and providing the most accurate macro estimates possible.
