Pearls of Promise and Purpose Deliver More Than 150 Fresh Start Kits to Local Schools

The Pearls of Promise and Purpose, an official interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, recently completed a successful community service effort through their Project Fresh Start initiative.

As part of the sorority’s International Programs, Uplift Our Local Community, led locally by Ms. Toni Graves, the group collected and assembled more than 150 personal care kits. These kits contained essential hygiene and self-care items, providing students with much needed support to begin the school year with confidence and dignity.

On Tuesday, members of Pearls of Promise and Purpose personally delivered the kits to each of the county’s public middle and high schools. School administrators expressed gratitude for the effort, noting how important such resources are in boosting students’ confidence and well-being.

“This initiative addressed a critical need, ensuring that young people in the community have access to basic items that contribute to their overall wellbeing and readiness for learning,” said Graves.

The Pearls of Promise and Purpose continue to demonstrate their commitment to service, advancing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s mission of fostering positive change and uplifting communities.
