📣 Mutual Aid / Trans Health Crisis 📣

Me and Cat lost our doctor, and she lost her state insurance. We need a way to fill our meds, not just our HRT, but all of our meds. Plume and similar options cost $100+/month. We already lost SNAP, we can't afford that.

Local clinics? Won’t take my insurance, or new patients. The one that did told us today: “We’re federally funded. We can’t do HRT anymore, so we can't work with you. Sorry.”

Now she’s out of meds.
We’ve tried every resource, every clinic, every quiet route.

I called the authorities when I broke my arm. Same day. 16th.
It started with the hotel. We got back after my surgery and I was still groggy and under the influence of anesthesia. I asked the desk worker how to access the CCTV footage so that we could confirm DL did indeed assault me, and have Dancing Lady cover any medical fees. They said they could only release it to police with a report. Fair enough.
I called the non emergency police department phone number since it felt like the more appropriate choice.
I told her I want to file a report and I am very autistic. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm slow with a learning disability please help me gently.
She never took my name or information. She asked for a brief summary of the story. Determined "no crime". Refused to help me, refused to let me file a report since no crime was committed, refused to even access the CCTV footage. Told me to try a personal injury attorney.

So I did. I cried for the night and woke up February 17th ready to try again. I called every attorney in Boone. All of them just referred me to the NCBAR website. Which is how I found them. But I've kept looking. Either way it was a dead end.
There is a social worker who knows I'm being screened for DID and knows my mental health and trauma who has stayed in contact and is trying to get the CCTV for me. But that's not turned up anything

March 3rd, I'm assaulted in my hotel room and have to call the police again. Details to follow later on but the result was Cat, Myself and Buddy having to check out of the hotel.
When we checked out I asked if I could file an incident report about the broken arm. They got the general manager for me.
She was floored. She said any time anyone calls from her hotel the police are supposed to come, even if it's just to file a report at the front desk. She asked about my arm and I told her the full story. Her jaw was on the floor. She said she had a note about a guest injury that day but she was completely unaware the details or severity.

I talked to a TSA agent through FEMA.
🧑🏻‍🦽: "We need an extension."
👺: "Your home is deemed livable". Try a hospital, and if it's an emergency try 911."
🧑🏻‍🦽: "Homelessness isn't an emergency or crime. If I'm dead in the parking lot, what then?"
👺: "Ma'am I don't have to put with this language and if you keep using it im going to hang up"

🔸FEMA stops paying and we begin paying out of pocket
🔶 January 15th
🔸Operation boots on the ground reaches out to me promising help and huge things. We cry and trust them.

🔷Hotel coverage:
🔹Week 1: We payed for and Cats grandma covered the difference. Operation Boots on the ground begins working with us and our damaged home
🔹Week 2: We used points from the hotel reward program to get us like a week
🔹Week 3: We use more hotel reward points to book a Hotel in Boone, our hometown. Putting us closer to the damaged address while OBOTG work continues

In the meantime FEMA approved one of our cars just before the GOV freeze. We are the proud owners of a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The family?

Elena is still in kindergarten. She's staying with her dad until summer break. We get tons of pictures, stories, phone calls, etc. She's doing great!

Suzy, Anthony, and Luna are here at the newest hotel with Cat Myself and Buddy. They arrived February 20th.

Operation Boots on the ground tried everything to help us but in the end were unsuccessful. Samaritan's Purse was their last shot. And Samaritan's denied us for "gender orientation reasons".

We are now working with a church and the owner of Dragonfly Design to pick up where OBOTG left off.

Oh. And I broke my arm on February 16th. Had to have surgery.

I'm 29 years old and heavily autistic. I have a mental delay and learning comprehension issues. So please be easy with me and know I come here with the best of intentions. I don't want drama and I'm not attacking anyone. Just telling my story.

Quick fact list:
✅ On Feb 16th I got injured at the hotel we are staying at.
✅ My injury happened in my wheelchair, in the hotels public smoking area that is labeled accessible
✅ My injury is in hotel CCTV
✅ Another person, a stranger also smoking, directly contributed to my injury. Let's call her DL (dancing lady)
✅ DL was dancing with music on loudly and earpods in her ears while standing in the middle of the sidewalk in front of the smoking benches and cigarette bins.
✅ We had shared a brief interaction to say hello, in broken English but enough to communicate.
✅ I've asked for the CCTV footage and been denied because "no crime was committed".
✅ Ive talked to a few pro bono personal injury attorneys and also been denied
✅ The police wouldn't even let me file a report because "no crime"
