Somewhere along the way, the things that used to surprise me about living in the South just became completely normal! 🚜 Tractors on the road, waving at people I’ve never met, Dollar Generals in the middle of nowhere and driving an hour because someone told me there’s a little restaurant we HAVE to try! And I wouldn’t change it. ❤️

Red’s Little School House in Grady, Alabama started life as a one-room schoolhouse back in 1910 and we got to sit down with owner Miss Debbie and hear some of the history behind this special little place! ❤️ These days, the school desks have been replaced with tables and the lunch line leads to a Southern buffet loaded with good old-fashioned country cooking! From fried chicken to all those homemade sides and desserts, you definitely won’t leave hungry!

Well, that was an expensive mistake! 😳 I decided to test out my brand new Insta360 camera and get some cool angles while building my dining table…Turns out directly in the path of a miter saw was NOT my best angle! 😆😭

Our first Texas Roadhouse experience! 🤠🥖 Those FREE rolls with cinnamon butter absolutely lived up to the hype 🙌 But the highlight might have been Mum having to get on the saddle while everyone yelled “YEEHAW!” 😂

Apparently you don’t have to be a patient to get a bargain lunch! We stopped by the Dale Medical Center cafeteria in Ozark, Alabama, and my entire lunch was only $6.30!! 😲 Incredible old-fashioned cafeteria food at a price I wasn’t expecting! 😋

Five generations and more than 80 years of family history! We stopped at Holmes Pecan Co. in Andalusia, Alabama for lunch & of course, had to check out all things pecan while we were there! 😋

Built in 1884, Shorter Mansion in Eufaula, Alabama is one of those places where you don’t just look at the history — you can actually sit down and take it all in! For just $10, you can tour the mansion, wander through the rooms and even sit on the furniture, which makes the whole experience feel so much more immersive. And if it looks familiar… you might recognise it from Sweet Home Alabama 🎬

We stopped by Money’s Grill in Abbeville, Alabama after mum had her hair cut! Service was amazing, mum had the grilled shrimp & sweet potato fries, and I had the BLT — but the fried green beans stole the show! 😍

Perry Store in Kinston, Alabama dates back to 1901 and is an old gas station packed with antiques, vintage finds & locally made products! There’s so much to look through, you don’t know where to start! 🤗
