What’s happening with beef prices (in simple terms):
Several things around the world are making beef harder to get. For example:
Imported beef from Brazil now has a huge tax, making it more expensive to bring in.
Cattle from Mexico got stopped at the border due to health safety concerns.
Drought and low numbers of cows are making the supply tighter.
Some meat plants are moving slowly due to government checks.
All these “bumps” are pushing beef prices up. Experts say it’s a tough mix—and prices might keep climbing. But one thing hasn’t slowed down: Americans love their beef, and they’re still cooking with it!

Tariffs, disease and demand supporting the bullish stampede in beef prices.
