The Day the Sulcata Tortoise Taught Me a Lesson
Everyone thinks speed wins in this world. Faster money. Faster fame. Faster opinions.
Then I met a Sulcata tortoise.
He didn’t rush. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t care who was watching.
This massive, prehistoric-looking creature moved with absolute certainty each step slow, heavy, and intentional. No hesitation. No anxiety. Just forward motion.
The Sulcata tortoise is one of the largest tortoises on Earth, built to survive brutal heat, long droughts, and harsh terrain. While other animals panic when resources disappear, the Sulcata digs deep burrows, waits patiently, and endures. Quietly. Relentlessly.
That’s when it hit me.
The Sulcata doesn’t survive despite moving slowly.
It survives because it does.
No wasted energy. No unnecessary battles. No rushing into danger just to prove something. It knows where it’s going and it will get there whether the world is cheering or not.
In a world obsessed with instant results, the Sulcata reminds us:
Progress doesn’t need applause.
Strength doesn’t need noise.
And consistency will always outlast speed.
So if you feel behind… if life feels slow… if success hasn’t arrived yet
remember the Sulcata.
Still moving.
Still growing.
Still winning.
Slowly. Deliberately. Inevitably.
