Under Act 305 of the 2026 Regular Session, new criminal penalties apply to certain ma*****na violations in school zones. The law applies on school property, within 2,000 feet of school property, and on school buses. It also addresses smoking and va**ng controlled dangerous substances, including THC v**e products.
For students in grades 6โ12, school disciplinary consequences are separate from any criminal penalties. The law includes specific provisions regarding possible expulsion for ma*****na possession at school, on a school bus, or at a school-sponsored event.
