A little throwback to last year's win. ๐Ÿ’š

Your votes helped put TBPW on this list last year, and now we're nominated again for 2026!

For me, another win isn't just about the award. It's another way for someone in our community to navigate a career change, new role, business shift, layoff, or just trying to figure out what's next to discover:

โ€œOh, there's support for that right here.โ€

That's what your vote can help do, make this resource easier for someone else to find.

If you believe this kind of support belongs in our community, I'd love your vote again. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Voting ends September 13. YES! YOU CAN VOTE ONCE A DAY TILL September 13th

Day 4 of voting ๐Ÿ’š
Here's why I'm asking you to vote for The Balanced Professional Works.
Because sooner or later, most of us go through a season where work changes, life changes...or both decide to change at the same time. ๐Ÿ˜…
A job ends.
A new opportunity comes up.
You're trying to grow a business.
Your responsibilities at home change.
Or you're simply trying to figure out, โ€œOkay...what do I do next?โ€
That's why I built TBPW.
To make sure people in our community know there is a place where they can get practical support, sort through what's going on, make a plan, find helpful resources, and have someone help them follow through.
And when you support a local business like TBPW, you're also helping more people find that resource when they need it.
Last year, your support helped TBPW receive a Best of Bloomingdale Choice Award. ๐Ÿ’š
And here we are again!
Being nominated for 2026 means a lot because it tells me this work is being seen and has a place in our community.
So if you've seen me out and about, learned something from a post, shared TBPW with someone, worked with me, or simply believe this kind of support should be available locally...
I'd love your vote again. ๐Ÿ’š
๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Voting is open through September 13.

Let's see if we can do it again this year. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’š

Okay, I get to share something pretty cool. ๐Ÿ˜Š
TBPW has been nominated AGAIN for Best of Bloomingdale! ๐Ÿ’š
And you know what?
When you're running a small business, you're usually so busy doing the work that you don't always stop to notice that people are actually seeing the work. ๐Ÿ˜‚
The conversations.
Showing up at community events.
Meeting new people.
Supporting other local businesses.
Someone mentioning TBPW to a friend or colleague.
A person following along here even if we've never met.
All those little things add up.
So being nominated again feels less like, โ€œLook what I did!โ€
And more like...
โ€œWow. Look what we're building.โ€
Voting opens September 5 and runs through September 13, so yes, I'll be back with the link. ๐Ÿ˜‚
But for now, I'm just taking this one in.
Thank you for seeing TBPW, sharing the work, and making room for this business in our community. ๐Ÿ’š

Sometimes it's not that you don't know what you want.
You want a few things. ๐Ÿ˜‚
You want to grow in your career.
You want time for something you enjoy outside of work.
You want to work on that idea you've been sitting on.
You want to show up for your family.
And somewhere in there, you'd also like a little time where nobody needs anything from you. ๐Ÿ˜…
The hard part comes when we start treating everything we care about like it needs the same amount of attention right now.
It doesn't.
Something can matter to you and still be a not yet.
Something can stay part of your life without getting five hours a week.
And choosing to focus on one thing right now doesn't mean you're giving up on everything else.
Sometimes that alone takes a little pressure off.
You don't necessarily need fewer interests, goals, or responsibilities.
You may just need to decide:
What gets more of me right now?
What gets a little?
And what can wait?
That's a very different conversation than trying to โ€œbalance everything.โ€ ๐Ÿ’›

The goal might not be too big. The next step might be.
You can know exactly what you want and still struggle to move it forward.
Not because you don't care.
Sometimes the next step you've given yourself simply doesn't fit the time or capacity you have right now.
โ€œWork on my career changeโ€ is a lot.
โ€œResearch 3 roles Wednesday nightโ€ is something you can actually put on a calendar.
โ€œGrow my businessโ€ is a lot.
โ€œReach out to 2 potential clients this weekโ€ gives you somewhere to start.
When something keeps getting pushed to next week, try this:
1. What am I trying to move forward?
2. What time and capacity do I realistically have this week?
3. What's one step that fits inside of that?
You don't necessarily need to make the goal smaller.
Make the next step more doable.

A few months ago, I was talking with someone during a complimentary call who had a few things they were trying to figure out at the same time. They had personal interests they wanted to make room for. They were looking at how much time they actually had available.
And then... a new job offer entered the picture. ๐Ÿ˜…

So the conversation wasn't just:

โ€œShould I take the job?โ€

It became:

If I say yes to this, what else changes?

How much time will I realistically have?

What do I still want to make room for?

What might need to happen less often?

What can wait?

That's the part of work and life transitions I think we sometimes miss.
One change can affect a whole lot of other things.
And sometimes you don't need somebody to tell you what decision to make.
You need space to look at the whole picture before you make it.
That's what alignment can look like in real life.
Not everything fitting perfectly.

And that's one of the conversations I'm bringing into September here at TBPW.

Had to share this from yesterday. ๐ŸŒˆ

After the rain, this beautiful rainbow showed up.

And yes, I definitely stopped what I was doing to take a picture. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes, you just have to notice the good stuff happening right in front of you.

It's a pretty nice way to close out August and head into a new month.

Happy September, everyone!๐Ÿ’›

What are you looking forward to this month?
