Milledgeville’s own is coming HOME! 🙌 Logan has been making waves across the country with his bold southern pop sound, sharing the stage with Cole Swindell, Megan Moroney, and even the Jonas Brothers. You may also recognize him from ABC’s Claim to Fame! This fall, he returns to Deep Roots as our headliner for an unforgettable hometown show.

Public Service Announcement – Laurens County Sheriff’s Office

As Homecoming Week activities continue across our county, we want to remind everyone of a few important safety and legal points.

Our office received a complaint from a homeowner about an individual wearing a ski mask and walking around their house near midnight. This is a serious concern.
1. It is never a good idea to walk around someone’s home at night. This creates alarm and can lead to dangerous misunderstandings.
2. It is highly unwise to do so while wearing a ski mask. In Georgia, wearing a mask or hood to conceal your identity in public is prohibited under O.C.G.A. § 16-11-38.

Parents, please take a moment to speak with your children about the importance of responsible behavior during Homecoming Week traditions. While “rolling” or decorating yards has long been part of school spirit, Georgia law makes it clear that:
• Entering onto someone else’s property without permission can be considered Criminal Trespass (O.C.G.A. § 16-7-21).
• Damaging or defacing property, even as part of a prank, may also result in Criminal Trespass or Criminal Damage to Property charges.

We live in a time where this type of activity is not acceptable. What may be intended as a prank could result in criminal charges — or worse, an unintended confrontation with a homeowner who perceives a threat.

Let’s all work together to keep Homecoming Week fun, spirited, and safe for everyone in Laurens County.
