Finally got my shot at the Lift Bridge!

I’ve lived in the Duluth area long enough to know that the Aerial Lift Bridge is basically our Eiffel Tower—but until now, I never had a real reason to film it. That changed this week when I was hired to shoot three rental properties tucked right next to the canal (those three white buildings clustered together on the right).

I never thought I’d be a trunk sitter.

But when the only “office” available is a gravel patch next to the train tracks, you adapt. You pop the hatch, swing your legs out, and suddenly the back of the SUV becomes your mobile workstation.
It’s not glamorous. There’s no lumbar support. But it gets the job done.
Thinking about installing a chair back there—maybe even a tiny desk. Maybe I’m just one folding table away from a full-blown roadside coworking space.

By Friday, everything I meant to do starts competing with everything I still have to do. Projects like this one don’t always make it to social media until the following week because finishing the actual workload comes first. Quirky posts? Definitely second. Or third. Or somewhere between “I should sleep” and “what day is it?”

Anyway, here’s a little slice of serenity from a recent shoot. Proof that even when I’m buried in edits, the views are still worth sharing—eventually.

Our photos are now live on the North Shore Vacation Rentals website for their Gooseberry Trailside Suites property. For these four units, we have shot interior/exterior and aerial photos as well as virtual tours and floorplans. We also have done virtual tours and floorplans of for their 5 other properties. The NSVR team has been a blast to work with.

Today's worksite was awesome. I wasn't there to take photos, only to scan for a virtual tour and floorplans. Most places are about 25-30 scans per floor. This 3-story house took 150 scans due to all its unique nooks and crannies.

Because this place doesn't just love wood—it’s in a committed relationship with it.

Yes. Really. Because when you're scouting properties, a flagpole isn't just a pole—it's a statement. It says "I care about curb appeal, country pride, and having a place to fly my pirate flag on Halloween."

And, if you just happen to be a vexillophile, you can breathe easy as you no longer need to drop thousands on getting a flagpole installed.
