‼️RED DIRT PULSE INVESTIGATES

DUNCAN POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

PART 3: FOLLOWING THE MONEY

Public safety is one of the largest investments made by local government.

Today, the Duncan Police Department operates with approximately:

• 46 sworn officers
• A $6.27 million annual budget
• $246 in police spending per resident

Broken down further, taxpayers fund approximately:

• $17,178 per day
• More than $521,000 per month

For a family of four, annual police spending equates to roughly $984.

Most citizens would agree that public safety is worth the investment.

The question is what outcomes taxpayers should expect in return.

Duncan’s population has changed very little during the last decade.

Yet police budgets, equipment costs, training, technology, and personnel expenses have continued to increase.

Should success be measured by arrest totals?

By crime reduction?

By response times?

By case clearance rates?

By community satisfaction?

By public trust?

The answer depends on who is asked.

Tomorrow: We examine accountability, transparency, and public trust.

🚨53 FELONY CHARGES. MORE THAN 20 ALLEGED VICTIMS. FOUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

As we get closer to the court date, we wanted to ensure the public is aware this case will soon go to trial.

What began as allegations involving two students has grown into one of the most alarming child sexual abuse investigations involving an Oklahoma educator in recent years.

Former agriculture teacher Bobby Gene Pruitt, 63, is now facing 53 felony charges following an investigation conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Court records show charges that include allegations of lewd molestation, child sexual abuse, child abuse, first-degree r**e, forcible so**my, and assault and battery.

According to investigators, the case began in October 2025 after reports of sexual and physical abuse involving students were made to the Drumright Police Department. OSBI was called in to investigate, and what started as allegations involving two students quickly expanded as additional information came to light.

Pruitt spent approximately 38 years teaching agriculture in Oklahoma schools. During that time, he taught in the districts of Altus, Olive, Erick, and Drumright before resigning from Drumright Public Schools in October 2025 and surrendering his Oklahoma teaching license.

On February 1, 2026, Pruitt was arrested in Stroud by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was booked into the Creek County Jail on a $1 million bond.

As investigators continued their work, the case expanded dramatically. Media reports indicate the investigation now involves more than 20 alleged victims, and prosecutors ultimately filed 53 felony counts, including:

▪️ Lewd Molestation
▪️ Child Sexual Abuse
▪️ Child Abuse
▪️ First-Degree R**e
▪️ Forcible So**my
▪️ Assault and Battery

For nearly four decades, Pruitt worked in Oklahoma classrooms and agricultural education programs. Today, investigators allege that behind that long career was conduct that resulted in dozens of felony charges and allegations involving more than twenty victims.

The investigation remains ongoing, and law enforcement officials continue encouraging anyone with information related to the case to come forward.

If the allegations are proven true, the impact of this case will be measured not only by the number of charges filed, but by the lives of the alleged victims who have stepped forward.

All charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
