No, you’re not alone. Many of us have doubts about our faith too. “If God loves me, then why am I... or why doesn’t he...” That part of our faith journey is *f up, I’ll be first to admit. But the love part? The reality that I still love Him anyway, and I know he loves me back too, no matter what I do or don’t do? Well, that’s the part that is unexplainable, supernatural, and oh so cool.

We all are ~ We’re all f’ed up in some way or another. Each and every one of us. Yea sure, maybe less than some, but also more than others. Besides knowing that reality when we look in the mirror, we also have that confirmed by God in his book when he uses terms about us like “as filthy rags” and “all have sinned.” The sooner we realize that he’s talking about me and you, the better. That “trying to look and sound perfect” thing is a terrible way to live life. Why? Because it puts extra pressure on us to perform, and live up to someone else's expectations of us, and of course, we can never do that. Freedom in this life comes from just that, being free. Being free to be the f’ed up person we really are, is a great place to start.

Love is often defined by giving up our rights. Our rights to time, money, peace, vacations, and what we want. Love is also defined as life. Life that includes magical moments, happiness, joy, smiles, laughter, and hearts that are full. Love, to me, makes all the difference. •••

The disappointment you feel with God is not unusual. Many others feel it too. As a matter of fact, it’s expected, by him. He, our Father God, has been yelled at, cussed at, walked away from, and abandoned. Truth is though, it’s not all on God. He never promised us that this life was going to be easy. What he did say, is when it’s really tough, I’ll be there, with you. Not to FIX it, but to walk with you, while you endure it. Who else, loves us enough to do that? Who else, has done that, for us? •••

God’s love for you is unconditional. There is nothing. NOTHING. You can do to change that. He will never, ever, quit loving you. Know that. :::

Boxes are a terrible thing. Small. Confining. Not much room to breathe. Especially when we try to put other people into ours. Grace on the other hand is open, wide, expansive. It gives people room to be just who they are, today, in this moment. Until we unconditionally accept people as they really are, they won’t care too much about who God is. Kind of works the same for us too. We will guide better, and love better, without the box. :::

NO STRINGS ATTACHED ~ It's a strange idea for some that there could be a love so pure, so giving, that there are no strings attached to that love, ever. ~> "Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love drives out fear" (1 John 4:18)

"Laugh before breakfast, cry before night" ~ My rather eccentric uncle used to say that when my small kids sat around his breakfast table while visiting him in at his NC farm. He was an interesting old soul, missing several fingers from a farming accident, and could play the fiddle like nobody's business! That little saying was something that I expect used to be said by his parents around his breakfast table. I always found the saying to be interested, especially in light of the fact how NOISEY our kids were in the morning (and all day for that matter). I always welcomed the craziness and noise because I saw the value in their interactions (no matter how loud!). God's that way too I expect. When we talk to him, in a still quiet whisper, or in a desperate screaming angry LOUD voice... he is always calm, ready to receive whatever, and however, we need to relate to him. I'm so thankful for that...his steadiness and love, even when we're goofy and loud.

Although we strive to be, God did not place us on this earth to be, comfortable. He placed us on this earth to be a part of his unfolding Master Plan. For us to be part of that, we have keep doing, keep failing, keep learning… over & over & over, again. A great example of that in 2021 is , who keeps doing, failing, and learning. Video:

The eye in the sky is not looking down on you, it’s looking up to you, encouraging you on, through what is sometimes, oftentimes, a very challenging life. It helps to know, that. That we’re not alone, not truly, alone, ever. If you’re having a hard time believing that, right now...just pause, take a moment, and look up, look, farther… farther...farther...farther, out... ward. And when you do. What do you see?? Exactly. Not your pressing problems...but, comforting, amazing, beauty. ||
