✍️PROGRESS UPDATE *** As of 4:30 p.m., June 27***: US-70/Roosevelt bridge causeway emergency repairs.
◼️ More than 70,300 tons of materials have been placed as of Friday, June 27
◼️ Embankment repairs are complete
◼️ Guardrail replacement and resetting is complete
◼️ Mainline and shoulder pavement has been replaced
◼️ Rumble strip installation and striping are scheduled for next week
◼️ Utility pole coordination - watch for updates
◼️ No work is scheduled for this weekend, June 27-29, or during Independence Day weekend. Both lanes of travel will be open. Please continue to use caution and put away distractions.
While repairs to the US-70 causeway, guardrail and surface are complete between State Park Rd. and Willow Springs Rd., over Lake Texoma, work remains on rumble strip, striping and coordination with utility companies on pole replacement. The highway will be narrowed to one lane from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 30, weather permitting. Pilot cars will be in place to guide traffic through the work zone at speeds no higher than 35 mph. Delay times will be significant. Updates will be sent as the project progresses into July.
◼️As a reminder, repairs are being made to the causeway, not to the bridge. The bridge was not damaged.
Drivers need to slow down, set aside distractions and watch for large trucks entering and exiting the highway. Oversized loads remain restricted. Drivers can use US-70 to SH-199 to SH-78 as a detour or locate an alternate route.
